Went in there with my partner for lunch time on the 3rd of February 2023, we ordered two chips, a Guinness and I Brought my own Pepsi max no caffeine with me as I can't have caffeine at the moment, bar staff rudely told me I couldnt have it what was I meant to do? Made me feel uncomfortable so we quickly left also a dog on premises unhygienic, there was another customer with two large dogs who wasn't asked to take the dogs out but I was told off for having a can of Pepsi max no caffeine, bar maid said I should have ordered another soft drink but point is I didn't want that I'd have ordered a diet coke But I can only have no caffine. Sort it out please also pub isn't properly cleaned tables and chairs are horrible

You get a great view whilst eating. The food choice was good, and I enjoyed the smoked mackerel. My companion had a vegan dish and enjoyed it. Staff are friendly and helpful. The pub was busy.I would recommend visiting the area.

Passed through Maldon around late lunch o'clock and felt like food with a view, was in order... This is the perfect spot and the pub has a small car park out front. I was well looked after, young lady made my food crisp and fresh just as the pub was closing down the kitchen for the day, was most grateful and enjoyed all looking out over the lovely view, whilst enjoying a nice glass of wine..
