Great tasting chips but sadly mushy cod as usual,it tastes ok but I wish they used fresh like they prrofess they do. Fresh cod when cooked from fresh is white and flaky not opec and see through and very greesy. Like all takeaways in the sticks they don't have any competition to keep them on their toes so they serve substandard food.

We visited Riverside fish and chip shop yesterday evening on recommendation from friends, and we certainly were not disappointed, the staff we very efficient and the food was fresh cooked, the wait was not too long and certainly worth it, the waiting area is also very pleasant, plenty of seats to wait, no long standing around

We’re quite fussy about which fish and chip shops we use and we’re pleased to have found this place when on holiday in the area. It was very busy at 5pm on a Friday evening so a giveaway that it must be a good local chippy. The whole set up was very organised, staff presentable, friendly and the cod and chips just perfect. We took ours down to the river to eat.

Popped in lunchtime to order 22 meals for a family celebration. Very pleasant and efficient member of staff took my order to collect at 5 pm. When I collected my order again very pleasant and efficient. The order was 100 % correct and ready. It was enjoyed by all the family. Many thanks.

Placed order I made it v clear I wanted salt vinegar on chips -wasn’t there !, I noticed at home too late ! I’ve seen others here say same thing other (than that the other items I ordered were fine)

Just returned to riverside …amazing fish and chips and best I’ve had for a very long time . The team tonight excelled and should be proud … Let’s support our local fish and chip shops in these very trying times ,well done guys .

Chips, Absolutely awful, cold, greasy, 50% bits, eaten because I was hungry and can't abide waste, 45 mins later have got belly ache. Shan't waste money there again. Second worst chips I've ever been sold.

Very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food here. The fish was the freshest we have ever had and the portions were very generous. Despite it being very busy, the service was friendly and efficient - you can understand why people travel to eat here.
Expensive & overpriced.£2.20 for a small portion of chips.Waiting to be served queue at counter outside. Simple bag of chips.Asked for plenty of vinegar.Got home no salt & vinegar.Rubbish.

I bought a large haddock and chips for £8.30 in little clacton, the haddock is so small and the chips tasted not nice. Never go back again:(

We come to riverside each week and get nothing but amazing service and outstanding food. They cook everything to order so the quality is kept high and tastes amazing. When you know you’re getting fresh food there’s nothing better. We love coming down, Would highly recommend !!

Asked for a large portion of chips, paid £2.80 for 57 cold chips of varying shapes and sizes. Sounds a lot until you see them on a plate! Never again. Try Chilvers in the town centre!
