Although a nice building, it always seems extremely busy and understaffed. I feel for the staff as they are just faced with a constant barrage of customers.

Poor service very slow and long ques, does no one that owns the business ever read the reviews of the customers, dirty tables previous customers dirty plates and crockery left on tables that never seem to be collected. The guy making the coffee seemed pleasant enough but took an age to make it one at a time. Will not be going back again as several cafes in walking distance and a lot better atmosphere.
The coffee is nice and it's always a nice place to sit in, but the wait here is horrendous. It's taken 20 minutes for our drinks since we ordered, despite 3 people making coffees. There are over 20 people in the queue, just waiting for their drinks! Its hard to understand why other coffee shops don't have the same

Visited for a coffee and cake, got given cakes with no cutlery, asked for a fork and the man serving rinsed a dirty used fork under some water and tries to offer that to me! Clearly no food hygiene followed in this cafe, staff member had a long beard that wasn't covered and generally the place was a mess. Every table had dirty trays full on them and only 2 member of staff working. Will never return! VILE!!!

The total experience here is getting worse! Have had coffee here many times, Latte mainly, and it's always tepid at best. The hot chocolate we had the other day failed on the "hot" part. Service is very slow since a change of managers recently. Family members have said they won't go back there, such a shame.

Being regular clients to Coffee 1 I have commented previously on the lack of staff and have messy the place becomes when it’s busy. I’m not knocking the staff as they do work hard it’s just the lack of staff numbers. However, today there was a new guy making the coffee and handling the food onto the trays where visitors take their goods from the counter. Although he seemed a nice chatty guy he has a beard which is probably 9 to 12 inches long which actually hangs over the goods he’s serving. I wouldn’t suggest for one minute that’s it’s dirty or anything like that but surely this isn’t very hygienic when serving food and drink.
