Stay & Dinner Easter 2023 was superb, stay & dinner Easter 2024 was utterly different experience, starter - rillettes - oil dipping from the bread, main - fish and chips, oil dipping from the batter, dessert - brownie, completely burnt black colour, rather "blackie" than brownie, was thinking of rillettes but put off since the cook couldn't obviously handle deep frying! For the room, room carpets wet upon arrival, shower waste blocked allowing 3 minutes shower max. Sorry guys, not coming back for Easter 2025.

What a great inn from the 16th century. Very cozy atmosphere, very tasty food and loving staff. The rooms are in the neighboring building, extremely well equipped and very stylish. Every room has access to the outside, like a holiday apartment. Lots of parking space in front of it. The location is also very good, close to the M4. Bristol and Bath within easy reach. From there I also took a day trip to Cardiff and the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales.I felt very, very comfortable there!Rooms: Very cozy style with a modern bathroom, kettle, coffee and tea.Food & drinks: Great full English breakfast, delicious dinner.

Very disappointing lunch here with friends. They were clearly understaffed on front of house and probably in the kitchen bearing in mind how long food took to arrive. However the staff were charming, but sadly we were underwhelmed by the offering and will not return.Food & drinks: Excellent choice on menu, but each of our main courses were disappointing.

Very disappointed in the follow-up of this establishment. Friends and I ate there one Saturday a couple of weeks ago and both of us who had the same meal ended up getting very sick afterwards. I rang the Crown Inn the following day to let them know what happened - where I was assured the manager would be in contact, but I've yet to hear from them. I can't fault them for anything else but getting sick from the food served is something I feel should be taken seriously. Would not recommend on that basis alone.

Booked for lunch and had lovely food.Unfortunately although I logged my car I received a parking charge in the post. I hope my appeal will be upheld but it took 15 mins to find the documents to evidence my appeal.

I was meeting a friend halfway that I had not seen in years. The welcome, service and food were fine. However, there was no mention of signing in the car registration and I have been fined £100. There probably is a sign in the pub that mentions signing in but if you are not aware why should a customer consciously see a sign when entering. Since the incident just mentioned, Kirstie, the manager, has been able to secure a refund of the fine paid. I should receive it in the next few days. Kirstie and her team work hard and are very busy, sometimes not being able to remind visitors to check the cars in and avoid a fine. Thank you Kirstie for resolving this issue. I look forward to visiting again soon.Dear KirstyThank you for dealing with the above parking issue. As mentioned above, I met a friend who was also fined. I had parked in the rear car park and she parked in the front car park. Her name is Helen Aldridge and the car number plate is FG16 XWM. I understand from Helen that if I confirm to you that I paid for the meal, you are then able to contact the car fine company and get the fine invalidated. Thank you very much for your help.

We visited the crown on Mother’s Day as it was very busy , everything was first class from the food piping hot , the taste was excellent and the service from our waitress Victoria was very pleasant. We were also allowed to bring our dog which made the meal extra special.Definitely visit again.

It's a good Butcombe pub. The staff are quite young so not always the fastest but the management are really efficient, friendly and courteous. Portions are reasonable, and they offer interesting variations on traditional pub grub.We didn't stay at the inn.Nearby activities: There is a National Trust site down the road and it's a great place to walk off a hearty Sunday roast.Food & drinks: On the pricey side but that's what you'd expect from a Butcombe pub.

Kirstie and her team have totally transformed The Crown. The menu is superb. The service was so friendly and welcoming and the refurbishment is divine. I am so glad we came in for dinner to see how it had changed. 10/10

Looked after by Kirstie. Excellent Buttermilk Burger and Korean BBQ sauce. We also had Mushroom Pappardelle, and Steak & Ale pie. All the food was well cooked and served promptly. A nice variety of drinks and dessert rounded off a highly recommended visit.
