We popped in for a piece of the bread pudding, it was delicious! In addition, I needed some tape for a parcel (having popped into the post office and finding none) The staff in the bakery couldn't be more helpful, thank you very much, your help was much appreciated.

I have bought today a chicked and chorizo pasty and a chocolate hazelnut croissant. It was absolutely delicious, if you haven't tried yet, it deserves an opportunity. Yummy yummy

I fancied tying something new, so along with a friend booked a bread making course with Hobbs House Bakery in Chipping Sodbury. I didn’t really know what to expect, but went with an open mind and an expectation to make some bread. What a fantastic day. We were greeted with freshly made, warm pasties and following introductions and some educational facts on flour, it turns out there is a bit more to it than plain and self-raising - who knew!?! we got stuck into mixing flour with water and other ingredients (don’t want to spoil it for you) and had a thoroughly informative, educational, fun day. Interspersed between the classroom/kitchen were fantastic meals, where we actually made the pittas and pizzas (yep, we made our lunch) and this was washed down with fine wines and a plethora of other beverages to suit everyone’s tastes. When they realised it was my friend’s birthday, they went the extra distance and provided a cake and candle, which was a lovely gesture. Amazing day. Thank you Jon

Sausage rolls were pink red meat inside Under seasoned meat. Couldn’t eat it. Lack of toasty choice ?

I buy their bread occasionally from a local shop to me - OK if you're after a mass-produced 'artisan' style loaf but it's not consistent quality and not what I'd call speciality bread (ie, in France you can easily get good delicious bread everywhere - it seems we cannot do it here?).Today I bought a six seed loaf that was undercooked - all for nearly a fiver! Never again.

We’ve been coming to Hobbs for a number of years to buy bread and the occasional treat. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and we love the Tetbury loaf, our usual. It’s so much nicer than supermarket bread!During the CV lockdowns, we were super grateful for Hobbs, as we’d walk to it in the mornings to grab a coffee and a loaf, as well as some pastries, if we fancied a treat. It was also great to have the refillable milk station and the frozen pizza bases (when flour got a bit scarce, with everyone making stuff at home!).Sometimes the sweet baked goods aren’t always amazing - the pastries can be a little chewy and occasionally, the cakes aren’t super flavourful. However, their doughnuts and brownies are absolutely amazing! We’ve even bought some of the brownies to have for dessert when people come over for dinner, they’re that good. Thanks for being such a lovely local bakery!

Mediocre bread, pastries hit and miss - some were lovely, others barely edible

I visited Hobbs house bakery, this morning and bought some bacon sandwiches. The order was wrong and so I went back in, to rectify the order. I was served by an older woman, with glasses and a hollister T-shirt on, who could not even make eye contact with me. She did not apologise at all, did not allow me to wait there and then, while she changed the order, but sent me back outside to queue up again. The bakery products are really good there, but the bacon is lacking, see picture below. The other staff there, were very friendly and nice, but this older woman needs to learn about customer services.

Birthday party cake, pre ordered. Was collecting by a friend and I am relieved I looked at it before. We had just enough time to make our own. Chocolate raspberry brownie cheesecake! Unapologetically the ugliest cake I have ever had. What we ordered, what we got (never got better what way up) what we did with it (bin it) my 14 yr old made her own cake. Staff were not friendly when ask why it was so bad… So there you have it!

I ate bread. It was nice.In all seriousness, very nice. Except from the brownie which was too rich for my taste. Everything is about a pound too expensive. Only slight nitpicks. Would buy again.
