We had dinner on a Saturday night. Our daughter loved the chicken and chips. My husband enjoyed the steak and I truly enjoyed the vegetables lasagna ( first time I tried it) The pudding was delicious too. Overall nice meal without breaking your bank.

A great find hidden by the riverYes, keep driving, you're not going the wrong way, pass the pub on your left and park up.There is plenty of sitting areas outside and inside to suit the weather. With one of the most diverse pub menus in the area, with a fusion of foods from one of their Italian chefs. The menu is diverse to say the least, with a variety of foods to suit most palates. Along with classic drinks like cruzcampo from Spain. We had a selection of starters and mains which we gave on average 8/10, bravas which weren't but were tasty i.e. with tomato romesco, chilli garlic prawns, yum , thai fish curry which was very nice.Staff are wonderful and very helpful choosing something from the large menu.RecommendationsFully recommended for great lub food with a twist.#garystribe #localguide #localguides #letsguide #wales #chepstow #pubs

What a charming place! We had a large party of 10 people. The staff were friendly, accommodating and nothing was any trouble. The food was a lovely, homely roast which was wonderfully hot when served with all the trimmings. The deserts were lovely too from what others in my party said. Looked delicious! Recommend this place.

One of the best pubs in Fairford.Visited all of them, and The Railway Inn is certainly my favourite.Good food, great atmosphere. I have visited here twice so far, and both times it has been very good! The only criticism is the lack of vegetarian food. If you are vegan you have no chance. The vegetarian option is macaroni cheese, or macaroni cheese balls for a starter. I personally feel they could easily make a burger at least. Beyond Burger do some excellent patties, for example.Though don't get me wrong, the macaroni cheese is brilliant, there's just so many times I can have the same thing.
Eight of us went here for a late lunch on a Saturday. We were served by Mary-Ann who was brilliant and absolutely made the occasion for us! Well kept delicious ales, home cooked pub food which was generous and tasty! Thanks so much to the team!

Visited for Sunday lunch after many recommendations.. clearly we picked a bad day. Assured Yorkshire pud available with roast pork ordered.. 40 mins later told not enough Yorkshire puds available unless order changed to beef.. 5 mins later .. you can have a slice of Yorkshire pud with pork or a whole one with beef.. we choose beef… another ten minutes food arrives .. looks promising… sadly knife won’t even cut through the beef .. potatoes are like bullets… whole plate swimming in brown liquid (assume it’s supposed to be the gravy) and the much coverted Yorkie is a soggy mess. Most certainly not worth £15 a head (which they did refund). Most disappointing.
