First visit to this little gem, fantastic welcome and great selection of ales. Decided to eat here and was not disappointed, portions are generous and food is superb! Service was first class and reasonably priced. Would recommend a visit if you are in the

I came for a skittles match. 1) my husband paid £17 for 2 pints and a pint of Diet Coke. This is extortionately expensive. 2) the skittles alley was absolutely freezing cold - no one thought to turn the heating on despite knowing the match was happening. Luckily I found the thermostat and sorted it myself. 3) the skittles alley is poorly maintained, with a large and noticeable ‘bump’ about 2/3 of the way down. 4) there was limited seating available as all the chairs and tables had been stacked on top of each other - both unsightly and unsafe.

Recommended by friends we called in @6pm on a Monday evening. Sean recommended and produced a great shepherds pie and lamb & mint pie. Both excellent and the ambiance very welcoming. Give Sean a try!

Fabulous Sunday lunch again! Beef was cooked to perfection with plenty choice of fresh vegetables, cauliflower cheese and superb gravy. We were a table of 7 and every plate was cleared followed by delicious homemade puddings. Excellent service, excellent food hard to beat!!! ?

Excellent, food and service. Didn’t get to try many drinks as I was driving. I will have to make amends soon. Great team with a proper character landlord. This is a real country pub that others try to imitate.

As strangers to the area it is always a bit daunting going into a different pub, however we were greeted with a lovely smile and attentive service from liz (barmaid) she went above and beyond and I would definitely recommend this friendly pub to any weary travellers. The food was absolutely gorgeous and I will definitely be
The Village Inn is a wonderful local pub with an open fire roaring away, friendly staff with a warm welcome, a nice selection of drinks and a cosy vibe. With it being dog friendly it will become a regular stop on our dog walks - indeed, our dog walks will now be an excuse to visit The Village Inn!

Absolutely delicious Vegetarian Wellington (no sweet food this time). Really enjoyed the whole meal. The dessert was huge too, one between two would've been sufficient. Thank you.
