Great pub. Epic quiz night. Quirky games and eclectic beer selection. And a three legged pub cat. What's not to like!

There has been a recent negative review which I am compelled to say is unwarranted and completely untrue. I have loved this pub for years and will always consider it to be one of the most welcoming places in London. There is a wonderful community spirit present at The Charlotte Despard and as long as you are respectful, non-judgemental and kind you will be very welcome. The couple in the recent review were none of those things - in fact the man (who I have never met, even in passing) took my face firmly in his hands and planted a sloppy kiss directly on my lips. Which by any reasonable standard is unacceptable behaviour. I am very grateful to Chris, Amber and Legs for their friendship, vigilance and looking after their community.

Do not bother with this establishment they discriminate instantly. Myself and my partner visited here tonight for the very first time considering we have lived in the area for 27 years and on recommendation from our a friend it was our first visit. We stood at the window at the door and looked in via the window to see if our friend was in there which he was. We then greeted him and then sat at the bar and ordered our drinks and myself and my partner spent the remainder of the time there enjoying our drink. On sitting there we see a community notice board above the bar which was very endearing. On enquiring to the apparent male manager (who looked homeless with aggression) what it meant we were heard with aggression from him who told us we didn’t need to know what it meant. We were shocked by this and was completely confused by his behaviour, we brushed this off then we asked the female manger on our interaction with her what it meant and we were also shocked at her response we asked why, she responded we were being weird from when we were outside to being inside of the bar, even though she was happy to take take our order and money she then decided we were being loud according to other customers which is completely untrue and I find offensive. We advised her that our friend was in the bar we wanted to see and she proceeded to advise we were not welcome and walked away. We are completely offended and were made to feel ostracised because our face didn’t fit. We were genuinely impressed by an endearing post they had displayed above their bar which we simply asked what it actually meant. I can only imagine I’m not the face, gender or race they are wanting in their establishment. I definitely don’t recommend. Awful management

Great local pub. We need to keep them all going!

Nice pub, shame there is only one real ale on the hand pump. I remember when it was called 'The Dog' back in the day.

Great pub. Recently moved back in the area and so happy this pub hasn't changed. Owners are lovely, good beer selection, relaxed vibe and very clean. Discovered Super Scrabble was a treat. If you're in the area it's worth the walk to support this independent gem.

Super chill community pub. It was a quiet Friday night and on every table people were playing games and chatting over a pint. Really nice atmosphere. The owners are lovely too (and their cat)

Absolutely lovely place with some interesting crafted beers on tap. Friendly atmosphere and, of course, regular quiz nights.

No food, but the vibe in this place is perfect and they have a 3 legged cat. Who needs food when you can hang with a 3 legged cat? Great place to hang out for a chill evening.

Lovely staff, the pub quiz is fun but difficult! (Tues 8:30pm). Really enjoy the pool table. They have a cat (not always friendly)!I look forward to spending more time here

Spent an evening here playing pool and drinking some nice craft IPA. They appear to have recently refurbished the place and I think they did a great job. The size of the pub is perfect, not too big and not too small. And best of all - they have a pool table.

An easy five stars for beer, fun and Legz the cat - the best boozer on Archway Road!

Our most favourite Pub in London!Great choice of drinks, 1st class Pimm’s and the bartenders are always very helpful. There are inside and outside places for sitting. They offer to watch sport events on big screens, movie nights, karaoke and pub quizzes. You also can just sit there and lend a book from the shelf, play a board game, or Billard. The owners are very friendly and open-minded, we really like them. But the very best one is Legz, the three-legged Pubcat. He is a cute little fella, not so keen on being stroked but always ready for a few treats. We absolutely love him.Looking forward to come back to the pub as soon as possible in a few weeks.
