I’ve been to The Pearl a few times and always enjoy both the atmosphere and food! There aren’t many places with such a focus on seafood in the area and all the dishes I’ve had at The Pearl are great. Plus, you can see they support local suppliers as you can get some lovely Kent wine on their menu.

Lovely place and atmosphere, though over priced in my opinion, wine is at least £30 a bottle and lobster while lovely was one of the smallest I have had (I know it is expensive but just felt short changed).\\n\\nWe also had the baked cod which was delicious and much better value.\\n\\nI know I am going on about value, but was really looking forward to the lobster as a treat and didn't get what I expected.\\n\\nStill a lovely place.

This is a lovely looking restaurant and bar in the heart of Beckenham.\\nI had been here some time ago when it looked different and the food was lovely so I was very much looking forward to a festive Sunday lunch here.\\nSadly the food didn’t live up to expectations of the past. It was ok, the drinks were ok, the service ok.\\nI had the roast lamb and it was cooked well and a decent portion but the plate lacked; desperately missing some greens and the celeriac remoulade as part of my starter was tasty but that’s all I can say really. The cocktails we just ok, tasted premixed. The wine over priced.\\nWe decided to go for dessert elsewhere.

First impressions when walking into this place is that they’ve clearly tried to set themselves apart here in terms of decor. Environment is modern yet also warm with a few individual touches that gives the place personality. We came on a weekday so the bar on the ground floor was pretty empty but can imagine is a good place to have a couple of drinks before headed upstairs to the restaurant. There is a good range of meats and seafood on the menu, and with a good selection on the set menu choices also. Although did enjoy the food nothing really “outstanding”. However, service impeccable and attentive and will come back again.\\n\\nFood 4/5\\nValue 4/5\\nEnvironment 5/5\\nService 5/5

The restaurant was not busy at all but it took a very long time for the waiter to come and get our food order. I had half a lobster, which cost £22, there was barely any meat on there and it was cold and the chips were cold. I thought it might have been a little bit of salad on the plate, at least for decoration but there wasn’t. Also I think that in a decent restaurant like this there should be tapwater on the table but there wasn’t. I mentioned that my food was quite cold and we were given a free drink which was great. I’m sure that they used to be flowers on the balcony area but there wasn’t any. I think that would’ve been a nice touch because it looked quite bare up thereI. I had wanted to go to this restaurant for a long time but it definitely didn’t have that ‘Wow’ factor.

Limited options for none seafood dishes which i understand but the carbonara was awful and egg had scrambled and was over priced for the portion I received. The drinks were slightly overpriced for beckenham too. Service was good and the bathroom was beautiful decorated perfect for pictures!

What a disappointment this place is, the seafood platter for 2 was over cooked, lobster was hard and chewy. The corn fed chicken main was way too salty and extremely small with just 3 small cherry tomatoes and water crest. Way over priced for what it is and you are only paying to eat in well decorated place. The only thing that was nice was the drinks but saying that the glasses we had had dirty on them. Not worth the money!!!\\n\\nDisgraceful response from the owner stating my review as a fake and I had no book after posting my experience. That says it all about this place!\\nHow fake is this taken from your restaurant!!!\\nI would respect my customers review and not make false claims that someone has never been to the restaurant and rectify the issues why people are leaving bad reviews. Poor management poor staff i guess.

I actually had a sense of trepidation whilst booking this place (I haven't been to Beckenham in many years) but I was pleasantly surprised on entering this dual level eatery. Great service and the food was amazing! We had the lobster and melting chocolate fondant. Strong. Will be back.

So fab to go back to one of my favourite places albeit rebranded and refurbished. I wasn't disappointed. The refurb is simply beautiful, food still fantastic and still that wonderful service that makes this a super special place to go. Just love it, would highly recommend.

We visited The Pearl on a Wednesday evening to celebrate our anniversary. From outside, it looked really quiet so we were a bit hesitant but the main restaurant is upstairs and was about half full. A complimentary glass of prosecco while we perused the menu was a nice touch. Excellent selection of dishes- seafood, meat and a few veggie options. Food was delicious, service attentive but not intrusive. Will definitely go back.

Lunch with my very best friends, we meet every month and over the years have worked our way round all the restaurants in Beckenham. I don't leave many reviews but this time I feel I must as we were so impressed with everything. A lovely welcome, comfortable seating, gorgeous decor and incredible food. If you're after a proper dining experience without being rushed then I can recommend.. all the food is cooked to order, (the best way surely!) you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for a lovely afternoon. MM x

Enjoyed our meal so much we ate here twice this week. Decor and food excellent. Service friendly and willing to please. Really enjoyed the crab starter and as mussel addicks they were excellent. Our guests also agreed and will be future customers at this new restaurant. With restaurant and brasserie, The Pearl provides budget and style options.

Nice place, fairly pricey but the food was good. Mussels were the best, main course prawns with garlic chili really good too. Nice terrace, great pornstar martini. Disappointing: boiled veg, really? Don't we do better with veg sides these days?

Overall it was a bit disappointing for the price. Staff were friendly on arrival although a bit chaotic presumably as newly opened. Starters were the highlight, smoked fish platter was excellent, although I'm not sure whether it was prepared in house. Wait for mains was the longest I can remember in a restaurant and beyond a joke. Mains were OK, a bit uninspiring and not worth the £20 price tag. The waitress asked why I hadn't finished main, I said because I'd eaten 3 baskets in the hour waiting for it to arrive. To which the reply was that kitchen liked to allow people a bit of time between courses.
