Terrible service - steak was 50% fat and tendon. Waitresses were was over stretched given the number of covers.

The chap front of house was a bit unfriendly, no smile or eye contact, it was a Sunday evening, so maybe had enough! We thankfully had another waitress to serve us. Cocktails lovely. I was a bit disappointed with food considering the cost. Calamari were small bits with a floury coating and garlic mushrooms were very gloopy, prawns were nice. Baguette under cooked, quite doughy and not crusty on outside. Poulet breton was OK, sea bass ok, but very average. Mussels? Soooo salty! I love mussels, often order when I see them on a menu. So had many all over UK and continental Europe. They were horrible, got through about half. They were very small, not at all plump, so think over cooked. Quite a few shells were cracked, which seemed odd too. So disappointed as paid extra for bread to dunk, but couldn't manage much. Mentioned to waitress and was just told that that is how cafe rouge says to cook/serve. Doesn't anyone at cafe rouge check food quality/taste. I can only imagine the chef has seasoned an already salty dish. I have been to cafe rouge before a number of times. Food always been good. This experience has really put me off as if this is their current standard of food across their restaurants, really gone downhill.

My boyfriend and I came in for the first time to the cafe rouge at Victoria place. We’re visiting from USA. Isabella was amazing. She was the only one working with multiple tables at once and had the best attitude, personality, and humor. 12/10 amazing person and atmosphere!

Everything about this restaurant was excellent....other restaurants would be wise to take a leaf out of their book

Very good quality comfort food and really well prepared. The waiter was also handling a lot of customers mainly alone at the time it was quite busy that evening. He was very professional and really helpful as I was alone and having a stressful day! In general the staff at Cafe Rouge are mostly very good and I hope that this place does not close down. Cafe rouge had always been a place for me to go to for an affordable treat for lunch or dinner mainly and I would detest for this business to close down. I was sad to see most of my favourite London Cafe Rouge's have closed. Please do try to keep this one open as it's such a convenient location even if it doesn't have a scenic view or it's not as fabulous as some of the other locations.

The mussels were small and of different colors, the sauce was runny, oversalted and, in addition, almost tasteless. the wine... it seemed that it had been opened for a long time or something, it was a little sour.

Dreadful place. Cafe Rouge as a chain used to be pretty dependable but this branch was awful. Rude staff who can’t be bothered to serve you , but all too happy to tell you to move from a table because it’s reserved . No reservation sign on the table, and the place only a third full. Then give you a menu after you’ve moved to a table of their choice, but no service despite the place being only a third full. Need more staff who actually understand their job is to serve the customers . Very unwelcoming .

Cafe Rouge deserves a much better setting than upstairs at a train station because the food and service quality is excellent. It's such a shame that this chain has closed many of its restaurants. I would love to see them combine with the, now extinct, Belgo restaurants, because there are few restaurants of this nature left in London.

We went here for an early dinner yesterday as Victoria was convenient for everyone. The food was good, the price and choice on the three course fixed menu was great ? but most importantly, for me, the manager/ server Arsenijius was very clued up about food allergies and gave me a great alternative ? in addition his friendly style and great service was a rarity these days. Cafe Rouge should be pleased to have someone like this on their staff. If there was an award for employee of the month then I'd nominate him.Dietary restrictions: Cater for all diets

Would leave 0 stars if I could due to the attitude of the waiting staff/front of house. I’ve never been laughed at in a restaurant before by waiters until Cafe Rouge Victoria - all because I asked for a Decaf coffee. Like they are some kind of elite Coffee house and frown upon decaf.

Had a shocking experience at Cafe Rouge Victoria. Really poor attitude of the waiting staff (who actually turned out to be the manager!). He immediately got the hump with me as I chose to sit where I wanted rather than where he suggested (the restaurant was practically empty). I then proceeded to order a decaf coffee and was laughed at by him. The guy literally laughed in my face. As I went to leave I confronted the guy and he tried to gaslight me by saying he didn’t laugh at me. The cafe rouge area manager just happened to be in the store when this was happening and tried to deescalate the situation. He did this by offering to send me free vouchers for the restaurant. These have of course not arrived so basically been fobbed off by them. So yeah avoid these clowns at all costs.

Shocking Experience at Cafe Rouge Victoria. Laughed at by the manager in front of other guests because I ordered a decaf coffee! An absolute disgrace. Avoid at all costs.

We stopped at the Greenwich branch of Cafe Rouge for a quick dinner. Despite the place being near empty, service was slow and somewhat awkward , borderline unfriendly with a waitress clearly lacking basic hospitality training. We were neither offered, nor received the jug of water we requested with the expensive bottle of Malbec we ordered. One of our main dishes was forgotten, to be then served in a rush 10 min later, piping hot, totally over cooked, having clearly hastily been blitzed in a microwave. My steak and fries were served cold, the garlic butter melted and congealed on top of it. Plates were so hastily served, we never even got the chance to say anything about it. I am sure the staff see its fair share of tired tourists in that part of town but you’d nevertheless expect a modicum of service, courtesy and at a minimum an apology when a mistake such as forgetting a main course is made. When we politely requested the 12.5% service charge to be removed, we were subjected by the waitress to a furious rant about having worked 11hours straight that day and how we were being unfair to her, before storming off at the other end of the restaurant. We were gobsmacked. She returned 15 min later, still no apology, took payment without a single word before slamming the receipt on the table and leaving in a huff. This was cafeteria service at its worst and definitely not worth the menu prices, let alone the extortionate service charge for being shouted at. Shame on you Cafe Rouge for overworking your staff to a point of upset, for hiring people with no experience, training or a modicum of good manners.
