I found this place a little odd - the coffee was good, but the service concept is very strange. When you first approach it appears to be a cafe and does advertise itself as a cafe & restaurant, but we were seated by staff who seemed a little awkward and taken aback that we just wanted coffee at somewhere that's advertising itself as a cafe...We were offered a seat outside away from any heat in January with a reluctant and dismissive tone as if ordering a coffee is disrespecting the business. If it's a restaurant, and you don't want customers treating it like a cafe, don't call it a cafe then blame customers for using it as such!

Quality of the Sunday roast was decent but not worth the high price - average pub fare that you’d expect for about half the price. Small portions of food and drink, especially the vegan roast.Vegetarian options: Vegan roast was noticeably smaller than the others - extra (complementary) veg was offered after we’d finished, which was a bit odd.

Lovely bit of gentrification in Brixton Market. High prices for adequate food in small portions. Not the place to come hungry. Most staff where hospitable asides from Uncle Fester who could learn a thing or two about customer service.Billy Corgan serving badly, Bobson Duggnut reviewing poorly.

Overall the Sunday roast was incredible. Probably the best restaurant roast we've ever had. The chicken, veg, sauces and cauliflower cheese were all to die for! Some points for improvement:The chicken took a long time to come, we found out later that it takes longer to cook but this would have been useful to know when ordering/if it said it on the menu as we would have ordered snacks. Luckily it was worth the wait! It was also a bit too cold sat outside even with the heaters.

Good food, but insincere service, and they tried to move us on when we still had 20+ minutes left of our reservation, which really marred the experience and left a bitter after- taste. Plus they forgot our starter. Quite rude, overall, so despite the nice roast I would never, ever go back.

Had such a lovely brunch this morning. Delicious food (loved the green sauce) and the service was fab - so friendly! Can’t wait to come back!

Best roast I’ve had in London. The cauliflower cheese absolutely pops off

Everything was really great! The waiter was so so lovely and was really accommodating and lovely to us! The food was great! It was a little on the pricey side but it was delicious! The coffee was also great and the place itself was lovely.

Came here cause I saw it on Tik Tok. Did not disappoint. Made reservation for late morning but didn’t realize Sunday Lunch wasn’t served til 1:00pm. They were so good, we ordered coffees and bananas bread and then came back at 12:45 and they seated us no problem. It was well worth the wait! Will be back when back in London.

This place is pretty average in terms of food, atmosphere and service. There are too many hidden charges, even when booking which puts locals like me off. A £35 pp cancellation charge is extortionate for the area - this isn’t exactly a Michelin-starred restaurant, or a small family run place that warrants that kind of cancellation charge. The normal canx change for the area is £10. The extra charge for water and ‘extras’ to make your meal a full meal, reeks of entitled gentrification. There is rather basic atmosphere - it doesn’t feel like a true Brixton venue. Fine if you want an overpriced lunch / brunch with most tables outside and to say you visited a firmer washhouse. Avoid if you want a decent meal and to experience Brixton properly. Won’t be going back.

I met a couple of friends there for lunch on a Monday. Excellent location next to Brixton Market. The building is beautiful; I'd love to live there! Out the front, they have plenty of seating for alfresco dining with large parasols above. Inside is style with a luxe-industrial vibe. Downstairs is a private dining area. My partner and I shared a few veggie dishes including Burrata with Peas, Broad Beans, Lemon, Mint, Buckwheat (nice combination).Vegan Sweetcorn Fritters paired with a Heritage Tomato Salad with a gorgeous Green Goddess Dressing (lovely sweetcorn fritters but not overly filling so order a starter or pudding). Cauliflower Cheese with Sage and Truffle in the Gratin (this was large). Fries (fab but small portion). Small Lemon Tart (amazing pastry). Coupe Danemark with Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Sauce, Whipped Cream and Afghan Honeycomb. The person serving was helpful and friendly.

On a rare Saturday off from work I took my partner out for some brunch. I decided to try The Laundry. Even though I hadn’t booked we were welcomed with a smile and asked to just bare with them to organise a table for us ( it was a busy beautiful sunny morning) . Once seated and comfortable we received great service throughout and the food was delicious. Highly recommend The laundry breakfast ? and my partners banana bread with honeycomb butter was amazing ? , definitely go back soon and recommend to all.

A really lovely place - Table de Carmen (semi private table up to 20 people) downstairs is the perfect place for a special occasion, and the set menu for £35pp is great value with delicious food. The servers are all lovely and so accommodating and the atmosphere is fantastic.

We booked the Laundry for our post-wedding brunch and couldn’t be happier with the choice. Throughout the process they were super helpful and responsive. On the day itself we had the whole of the lower ground floor and the food was just what was needed after a boozy wedding! (Special mention to the hash browns)

The laundry opened just before Covid struck, and has now established itself as one of the destination places in Brixton. Unsurprisingly from the name, it is an old laundry building, early Edwardian with beautiful early 20th century design cues, and they’ve made a good attempt at blending original with new ‘industrial chic’ interior design.. this is a great place to hang out for drinks and cocktails or have brunch or dinner with its ‘open all day’ kitchen. The a la carte menu is very fairly priced and with daily specials. I went with three friends on a Tuesday evening, where you can bring your own wine with no corkage. They were very helpful, providing us with fine glassware to accompany our fine wines and we ate a very nice two course meal. A great kitchen team and a very customer focused and friendly front of house team, delivers a very nice experience. As we took our own wines, I didn’t sample their wines on this occasion, but a glance at the wine list shows some very interesting wines by the glass and the bottle, both classics and vanguardist wines Highly recommended
