Enjoyed our meal here. The tomato garlic bread and pasta arrabbiata were particularly good. The setting is traditional and cosy plus the service was good. The portions are generous so go hungry to make the most. Would be nice to see more vegetarian options for the mains. Maybe a spaghetti in garlic and oil sauce or a tagliatelle with courgette and broccoli in a tomato sauce. Also a children’s menu would be good as the pizza is massive plus our youngest usually has a simple penne in a plain tomato sauce but that wasn’t on the menu.

We booked for 7 pm on a Wednesday evening 5 adults 2 young children. We were early but we rang to check it was okay. Having arrived at 6.30 and only ordered garlic bread and olives as starters we didn’t receive our pizzas and pastas until 7.50. My son complained about the delay and was told it would be coming shortly. Then 15 minutes later my brother got up to complain and the chef/owner came out of the kitchen and said. “You should have told us you were in a hurry” My brother pointed out that we had 2 young children with us so wasn’t it obvious that we should have been served with pizza and pasta by now. Five minutes late the food came out with no apologies. The food was good apart from my sons pasta fettuccine Verona that was not very nice. Pizzas and pastas should be about half an hour not 1 hour 20 minutes. Especially when you have 2 young children. Most people don’t go into a restaurant and declare they are in a hurry to ensure they aren’t kept waiting. We’re they just busy doing takeaways? Never mind the people actually sat in the restaurant, I don’t know. We will not be returning. Great pity I hate doing poor reviews.

My first Bella Luna experience and fortunately it was superb. We had olives to start which weren’t just olives but toasted bread and oil and balsamic.The calimari were thick sliced and deliciousWe had spaghetti bolognese and the mixed seafood pasta both were huge portions, so much so I had to undo a few buttons.Highly recommended

July 2023What a shame. We tried this pizzeria again and it was dreadful - both pizzas were mainly tomato on dough, very little cheese. Very disappointing!2021 Excellent pizza and prompt dispatch. Once it reopens post Covid, it would be great to have a sit down meal there. Apologies for the poor photo, I was keen to tuck in!
