Not great , lovely looking place, however a restaurant that doesn't do lunch & dinners. Breakfast only.

I LOVED brewers fayre also known as Royal Forest. This pub is now closed to the public and only customers staying at the premier inn can eat here. I am 100% certain but for some strange reason it has the wrong information on google about it being open to public?

Lovely staff , good food , relaxed atmosphere and service on the good side , prices like anywhere else very expensive, beautiful restaurant, just sit in there eat and talk with family , I love everything about the Royal Forest restaurant and also the outdoors eating , lovely benches with lovely table , probably the best restaurant I've been to in North East London.

This is a buffet style breakfast, you can have as much tea, coffee, fruit juice, fruit, cereal, toast and pastries as you like and then order your English breakfast, including black pudding. Excellent value for price.Staff were very friendly and helpful.Vegetarian options: Veggie sausages and bacon available

Man serving meat, if he smiled face would crack. Serving staff lovely. Meat dry, maybe as just before end of serving, roast potatoes not good either, maybe sane reason, tasteless. Where we sat despite table cleared, floor was like a kids party been there, came our with food stuck to our feet.

We were disappointed with the breakfast at Royal Forest, slow in replacing food sausages were anaemic and only 1 hot drink machine.TBF looks like they were really short of staff and the ladies that were there tryed there best .

Came here on Friday 13th (dont say it)! for a lunch with hubby. Arrived to see an empty car park and a sign on the door saying as from 09 10 23 only serving breakfast. Was pulling out and a customer told us that it was closing down and that "someone" had bought the whole lot and it was being refurbished and wont be open for about a year. It defo does need something though as it is virtually falling apart. Hopefully it will still be a nice mid range restaurant but I wont hold my breath.

Menu is quite basic but pleasant. If you go at a busy time the servers willl be stretched as they don't schedule enough on when its busy.

We've eaten here several times but this time we were very disappointed. There seemed to be a severe staff shortage. The food was cool and the plates looked bland and unappealing. Nobody did a check back. We waited ages for the dirty plates to be cleared and waited so long at the bar trying to pay that we were seriously tempted to walk away. Disappointed!

As usual we had a lovely time and a lovely meal with excellent friendly service from Lois who always puts herself out to welcome us. We actually preferred the menu before it was changed recently especially the upgrade on the fish and chips and also the salad garnish and coleslaw on the smothered chicken, however it wont stop us coming each week,

My husband and I had an amazing time here last night. straight away we both were greeted at the door with a lovely girl named Lillia. Our food was absolutely divine, special thanks to the chef’s, my husband had the NEW Chicken fajita burger, what was absolutely delicious, I had the NEW chicken katsu curry which was delicious also. Before settling up our bill our waitress Lillia suggested we try the banoffee pie which was a great suggestion as we left bursting at the seams but craving more. I’d give our visit a 10/10, great value, great service, great experience and we will be returning soon!!! Many thanks to Lillia for making our visit even more special. -Tom and Pam

We attended a funeral in the function room at this venue today.. it was an absolute disaster from the start. We went to the loo as we arrived and there was no paper in the disabled loo (it was only early lunchtime so not at the end of a busy session). When we walked into the function room it was freezing cold…it was raining outside and a chilly autumnal day but they still had cold air con on and two windows open/broken. We went to get a cup of tea from the station set up but there was no hot water so we had to wait for that.. that came but then there was no milk. When the milk was served it was in a huge jug about 4 litres which I couldn’t lift. The mugs didn’t fit the saucers and wobbled and spilt the tea. The food was served late and it was not labelled so couldn’t work out what anything was. Disastrous for vegetarian or allergy sufferers. The “hot food” was stone cold, greasy and rock hard. The sandwiches were awful, thin stale bread with little filling… there was no garnishing or anything to make it look appealing either… I wouldn’t recommend this venue for a function. The staff were polite but not very efficient. It’s a cold dreary place that needs a good clean and lick of paint wouldn’t go amiss.. I would be embarrassed to serve and charge for food like it. Weddings and funerals should be catered for properly so they run smoothly without stress for the families. It wasn’t even busy so there was no excuse with at least 3/4 waitresses working. It was appalling.

This is a historic place with commanding views over Epping Forest. The service was not good and the place looked dated and grubby. The outside tables were all dirty when we went to sit down. This is a great location let down by mediocre management. I sincerely hope it improves.
