I moved to the area earlier this year and having a roasty on a sunday is my favourite part of the week and after having the vegan wellington at the bollo i’m not sure anywhere else could top it so i’ve been in pretty much every sunday from march-november this year. the food is amazing but it’s the staff that really make it so special - particularly izzi and stu. I’ve had my busiest year ever this year and as a solo musician it can be quite a lonely life but having my sunday roasts at the bollo with izzi and stu to meet me with a big smile has really helped me through some tough times this year. they’re so genuine and really care about their customers and it’s so clear to see that with how they are with anyone that walks through those doors. as gorgeous as the food is, i know the bollo wouldn’t be the same without izzi or stu so i want to say a personal big thank you for making the bollo such a special place and for helping me (and no doubt so many others) more than you know x

Great place to go a let you're hair down. You couldn't ask for more friendly and welcoming staff, the chef is such a brilliant guy too. And you actually have some music to listen to which is rare these days.

Lovely place :)Cosy and welcoming pub in a residential area. There is always available seating, and service is good: folks working on the pub have always been nice.

Having passed the Bollo a multitude of times in the past I decided it was time for a long overdue visit. A dear chum suggested we go for a birthday lunch in my honour and it was swiftly booked. We walked there after visiting the relatively close by Chiswick House but unfortunately got caught in a downpour. So we arrived a little soggy but excited nonetheless. When we reached our destination we were warmly greeted and kindly offered our choice of tables. We grabbed a couple of drinks, sat down, picked over the menus and placed our orders. We had a surprisingly lengthy bit of a wait, to be honest (given how quiet it was that afternoon). But once our meals arrived we were suitably impressed. Excellent sized portions - especially the large, and delicious Yorkshire pudding. Three large slices of perfectly medium beer, maple syrup covered carrots, kale, spuds and (to me, at least) the star of the meal - the mulled red cabbage. Plus, a HUGE side of cauliflower cheese. The food was immaculate. And proved far too much for me - shameful, I know. My company, however, annihilated hers like a starved wolverine! And had space for dessert! I've already put the Bollo on my go-back-to list. Right near the top. The ambiance is lovely there - save for one particularly loud, chirping little dog. The glass dome we were sat under flooded us with natural light which was endearing. The staff were helpful and polite. And the prices were fair for the area. A great spot that, I dare say, will become a regular haunt for yours truly.

A nice surprise in the midst of a nearly desert area. Delicious grilled sea bass and avocado toast with eggs.Fair prize, nice place outside also, and very kind people at service.Alessandra

Overall, a great little restaurant, albeit a bit on the pricey side (as with most Chiswick restaurants). The service is fantastic, even when the place is packed, however the food can be hit and miss as I have explained below.I do appreciate their recent renovations — the outside seating areas are much more comfortable than before, covered from the elements, and there’s now a clear division between smoking and non-smoking tables. We recently tried their pub lunch menu and, unfortunately, there is some room for improvement. The chicken in my club sandwich was dry, under-proportioned, and contained several bones (!!!). Also, there was one, tiny strip of bacon in the whole thing. It was also served on three slices of normal, store-bought white-bread, and served with a handful of chips. My partner requested soft poached eggs + avo on sourdough toast but the eggs were hard-boiled, and the portions were rather small - not offered with anything sides - so she was still hungry after her meal. Both meals were +£10.In contrast, we have previously had delicious Sunday roasts (incl. vegetarian nut-roasts) before and these have always been delicious - their cheesy cauliflower and sweet carrots are absolute perfection!Good facilities for babies too - high chairs, changing room etc.All staff are consistently friendly, helpful and speedy with service.Vegetarian options: We have previously had a lovely vegetarian Sunday nut-roast, complete with all the trimmings you would expect. It was truly delicious and was priced around £16 at the time. Not sure what it’s like these days though.

My friend and I were chilling and chatting at this place when the bartender starts talking a mile a minute. I couldn't understand a word! Finally, we order two beers and a burger with fries. But in no time, the guy brings us a cold burger. I take a bite, it's terrible. Then he has the nerve to ask if it's okay. Obviously, he knew it was awful. I tell him it's cold, and he tells me to heat it myself. I wasn't having any of that, so I refused. It's rubish.

Such a relaxing pub and very friendly staff. Although not local to the area, I would go back for a glass or two

? Chiswick Park? £6.45 Paulaner Weissbier❤️ A welcoming neighbourhood pub..The Bollo House is located in a quiet backstreet not far from Chiswick High Road. The nearest Tube is Chiswick Park which is just down the road..This corner pub was built in 1885 and started life as The Railway Tavern. In the late 1980’s the pub was named The Orange Kipper as you do, in the noughties the pub was renamed The Bollo House after the road it sits on. I love the beautiful Victorian glazed green tiles which add a touch of class to this pub’s exterior..This is a medium size pub with a “L” shaped bar that has two distinct areas. On the right, as you walk in is a spacious pale green decorated area which is geared up for the imbibers. On the left is an elegant wood panelled dining area which has comfy leather banquette benches at the front and rear. There are some nice decorative touches throughout like the fireplace and the skylight in the dining area..I was impressed with the beer selection which included three cask ales and some true continental brews. My brother and I decided we would be a bit more adventurous and ordered a couple of pints of Paulaner Weissbier. After a few sips and glugs we both agreed big thumbs up to ze Gerrmans, price point was about right for the area. There is a classic British pub grub menu available, Fish & Chips costs £17. There are food promos that go on throughout the month like Wing Wednesdays etc..We arrived around 2pm on Easter Saturday and there was a serene calm about this place. We were greeted at the counter by two upbeat fellas who were very welcoming and all smiles. The pub was fairly quiet with the majority of punters either dining or outside the front of the pub soaking up the Spring sunshine. There is a nice neighbourly feel to this pub, a place you can nip to for a relaxing pint or three..@thebollohouse is a welcoming locals pub that is easy on the eye. The service was first class and our beers hit the spot. The food is popular with the locals and the atmosphere easy going. This is a lovely place to spend time in whatever the occasion..ℹ️ Info correct visiting 07.04.23
