Don't be fooled by appearances... This busy chicken cottage is a little run down, the broken kids high chair covered in muck is not a good advert for the cleanliness behind the scenes but the food is lovely. Lots of people queued up and really friendly and helpful staff who served me with a smile. Great chips and a legendary lamb wrap. Awesome choice and good prices for central London. Wouldn't hesitate in returning

I wish to make a complaint about the poor service I have received at the West Kensington Chicken Cottage, on North End Road. As I suffer from high cholesterol, I always ask for my chips with no added salt as I need to adhere to a low-salt diet – as I notice, that unusually, the person operating the chip pan/deep fat fryer, pours lots of salt onto the fresh chips he takes out of the fat. However, I on nearly every visit, when I politely request “no salt” on my chips, one senior staff member always smirks at me, and then shouts something in Arabic to the people working behind him and they all start laughing. On every occasion, my chips are showered with salt by the person operating the chip fryer – against my wishes, which I point out, and then I have to wait, until he manages to get it right – but this is usually after waiting until about 4-5 customers are served. Tonight, exactly the same thing happened again, just after 10:15pm, and when I confronted the same person who served me, he denied this had happened. I won’t be going back to this branch again, as I think the customer service is appalling. All I am asking for, is for no salt to placed onto my chips – which shouldn’t be so hard to comply with.

Generally, Chicken Cottage has been known for their unique take on fast food, and is arguably the one who began the Halal Fried Food Chain which has stormed Britain with competition such as PFC, Morley's, Sammy's, and of course the pesky Selekt Chicken which opened recently across the street. I visit there usually, and the new deals are amazing value (DISCLAIMER: It is the 15th of March 2020 when I write this offer so this may be subject to change). Originally, prices for food on North End Road were overpriced, but since the arrival of Selekt, you can now purchase a Strip Burger, 3 wings, chips and a drink for £3.69. (This offer is also available for a Steak Burger, a Lamb Burger and a Cheese Burger). The stalemate of overpriced food has finally come to an end and it was the stubborn food chain that broke convention. Other things I want to say: The decor has worn a bit, some lighting doesn't operate behind the walls and beneath the counter, but however, the restaurant is generally clean. There's no bathroom, but a sink area in which you can wash your hands and refresh. Food doesn't take too long to come and is usually piping hot. I recommend they don't overfry the chips sometimes, since it's quite crispy and hot. Overall, if you are in the area, and in need of some quick food, then you should choose Chicken Cottage.

Chicken was absolutely disgusting. Undercooked wings which had membranes all over and chips were absolutely terrible. The whole vibe of the store was horrible and the chicken didn’t just taste bad, the breading was slimy and white in some reigons! There is a KFC near this place, just go there instead. It’s halal too, if that is what you like.

This place was honestly horrendous. The chicken was slimy and undercooked. Not to mention how smelly the burger was . I don’t understand how they can serve this food and not get shut down . We asked for ketchup and we got tomato juice . How disgusting. I’m feeling terribly sick while writing this , I think a got food poisoning. DONT EVER GO TO THIS CHICKEN SHOP EVER. ??. Don’t eat it, I can’t explain how disgusting it was . And also the burger filling dropped out the moment I lifted it . Shut this place down before someone dies of food poisoning
