Good customer service from Madie & Emily, who served us this evening in the restaurant, they were kind and polite. The food was delicious can't fault anything.

Could have been a pleasant experience but ruined by the bass notes of loud music resonating though the supposedly boutique guest rooms. Our complaint to the management at well after midnight on a Friday was answered with 'what do you expect in a pub with music'. The only music mentioned on their web site is on Saturdays 9 to 11 pm. On Wednesday and Thursday it did stop at around 11pm. You have been warned, not a guesthouse for a good night's sleep.Noteworthy details: This is the first time that I have encountered emergency lighting in an hotel bedroom. Could be useful but the very bright green light shining down at the top of the bed was not an aid to sleep.

Stayed for the night while using its location to visit London for a show...About 11 miles from London city centre (1hr) drive from my experience in the car..I was driving and access to London from here was very easy...Used the carpark and found it easy to find a space..Arrived at dinner time and had to book in at the bar...And the impression I had was what a beautiful pub with a friendly atmosphere..Checked in with a very friendly young lady...Who then showed us to our room...The room was spacious and comfortable and very clean..Double bed.. TV... wardrobe.. small table and a mirror..Tea and coffee facilities and complimentary Spring water and biscuits were also available in the room..Ensuite bathroom with a walk in shower..Again complimentary shower gel and body wash was available..Breakfast was included in the price and a continental buffet was served down stairs in the bar...Although the room was above the pub we didn't experience any noise from belowWe enjoyed our stay and would return and recommend...

We had our wedding reception at the Royal Oak. I cannot praise the staff enough for helping us create such a beautiful and memorable day. Georgia went above and beyond in coordinating the planning of our event and answering my never ending list of questions. Kelly and the team were so friendly and attentive on the day and the night before. All our guests commented on how lovely the food was and the team at the Royal Oak worked with us to create a menu for our special day. It was great value for money and felt very bespoke.The private area was just perfect for the size of our wedding party, the staff joined in the fun too, dancing the night away while still keeping up excellent levels of bar service.Several of our party ourselves included stayed in the guest house and the rooms were wonderful and Saturday mornings breakfast was a real tasty treat.Thank you for everything Mr & Mrs Andrews
A lovely atmosphere and very friendly pub that produces great food. Very large outdoor area which is fantastic for summer and is also dog friendly.

Very clean & tidy place to stay with good food and decent beer. Do beware of the sloping ceilings in the top floor rooms though if (like me) you're tall! Friendly, helpful service too.
