Apparently also a hyped up spot in London but I see why. Those pastries and baked delights were amazing. We arrived 5 min after opening and there were a lot of spots available. The same can not be said 10 minutes later with a line forming outside. The rhubarb pastry deserves a mention! The chocolade pastry has some tasty hazelnut-chocolate mixture as filling and it was the first time I tried Marmite (having heard mixed things about it before). I loved it.

Visited on a rainy day recently and had a lovely experience! I enjoyed some pea and chilli oil soup and a delish iced coffee! I definitely recommend, I didn’t some work on my laptop too and the vibe was great ?

BEST PAIN AU CHOCOLAT in London? ?.A French pastry expert told me that Pophams have one of the best pain au chocolat in London. To start with, it’s not your regular sized one ?It’s absolutely huge, the lamination is on spot and the filling was really creamy and chocolatey ?‍? They also have a hazelnut version but only on weekends so I need to come back.Personal verdict: absolutely must try for the price (£3.90) ?.?For Easter they have super soft Hot x Buns which come warm but I’d probably still ask them to toast it if I had it again..I also tried their seasonal ?fruit special - Rhubarb and Cardamom Custard Cronut which was very refreshing and with abundant filling ?.I ended my visit on a savoury note with their cloud soft Honey? and Smoked Salt Bun which was absolutely DELICIOUS..I’d say the price/what you get is a very decent one for the London bakery scene and this place is not overhyped for nothing, I’d gladly come back ?.Pain au chocolat £3.9Honey and Smoked Salt Bun £6Rhubarb and cardamom custard £5.6Hot Cross Bun £3.8.?Location: Hackney?Closest stations: London Fields, Hackney Central?Price: £3-6/pastry

Pastry quality has dipped significantly this year, but the prices have skyrocketed. Disappointing marmite swirl - rather shocked it cost me £6 and a 10 minute queue.

Good service, nice interior. Food was better the last time I came here (a year ago). Pasta dishes were just too small to be justifiable, and none of them blew me away. Ordered a goats cheese tartlet for a starter and it was hilariously small- like 1 tiny canapé. £75 bill seemed too high for what we had. Good beers though.

Bacon maple & weekend special pastries are all delish, strongly recommended ?

Worth the hype. It’s a little pricey and we probably ate a thousand calories but it was glorious. Everything was delicious. I live in Paris and these pastries are better than what we can get in France. There’s a line but it goes quickly and it’s not too difficult to get a table even on the weekends. Go early to get the weekend specials. We missed out on the St. Patrick’s special, sadly. Will be back!

Dry pastries. Overhyped. English people know ZERO about what is good or not food wise

Weekday lunch- no queues, good service and a good lunch. Quite pricey and limited choice of vegetarian sandwiches. However, exceptional bread and pastries. If I lived locally I would be back.

You probably will see this place being recommended everywhere. It is true, some of the best pastries in London. Try to go on a weekday to avoid the crowds.

A nice cosy place. Coffee was good. However, the bakery items didn’t meet the mark at all. I got a cardamom bun and a pain au chocolat. Both had a burnt top and bottom. The croissant was very dry. The cardamom bun seemed underbaked and raw but the flavour of the cardamom was nice. I would probably go back just for the coffee but not the bakery items which had seem to be the hype.

Go for the pastries and coffee. Avoid the pasta tapas...
