Great spot, decor, quite spacious. The full tasting menu was great, albeit very small. Definitely worth a visit.

I am strictly talking about the food and the price range 100£ per person for the tasting menu + 1 drink.- the portions were tiny- most of the dishes extremely salty- everything tasted like this cheese dressing they use apparently everywhere (including the dessert)- the fish dish was a bit smelly (as if the fish was off)Personally I think this should be priced 20£ max. My girlfriend felt the same. The staff was very kind and the atmosphere was nice, with tables that were spaced enough to have some privacy.Overall 1 star for a tasting menu where every dish tastes the same and 200£ for 2 people.

In the gastronomic wonderland of Hackney, where Michelin stars fall as casually as autumn leaves, there exists a restaurant so avant-garde, it serves pride and pretension on a platter, with actual food merely a garnish. For £45 a head, we embarked on a culinary voyage akin to exploring the Sahara with a teaspoon. The menu boasted items so minuscule— a sliver of bread, a symphony of vegetable whispers, and a meat morsel playing hide and seek beneath a leaf—that we were left wondering if we had stumbled into a support group for recovering gluttons, rather than a dining establishment. The dessert, a solitary drop of ice cream, was the chef’s pièce de résistance, encapsulating the essence of nothingness in a taste that lingered for less time than it took to blink. Departing the restaurant, our wallets were substantially lighter, not from satisfaction but from the philosophical lesson imparted upon us: in the realm of haute cuisine, emptiness has a price, and it is exorbitant. This Hackney eatery redefines dining, not as an exercise in nourishment, but as an ode to the art of leaving hungrier than when you entered.

A great experience and a unique meal.

Very good zero waste food concept restaurant. The food had a lot of interesting flavours, many based around fermentation. The portions could be a little larger as I found myself not completely full at the end.

Progressive, inventive and talented cuisine. At Silo, waste is considered a failure of the imagination. Their philosophy revolves around natural farming and closed-loop cooking. Here’s how they achieve zero waste: Seasonal ingredients, in house production, and creative dishes. The interior is an industrial-chic vibe that perfectly aligns with its ethos.Silo offers a unique dining experience that prioritizes sustainability without compromising on taste. The chefs take great pride in using every part of an ingredient, resulting in a menu that is both delicious and resourceful. So, if you find yourself in the UK, make sure to add Silo to your list of must-visit restaurants. It’s inspiring to see a restaurant take a stand for the environment, and Silo’s dedication to zero waste is truly commendable.Vegetarian options: Diners have a choice to choose between a vegetarian dish or regular dish

Loved the tasting menu! Everything was absolutely stunning. I loved the idea of zero waste and that every ingredient (even the humble potato) really had the chance to shine ✨ The maitake mushroom was deeeliciousHowever I thought maybe 3 hours for a full tasting menu was just a tiny bit excessive for a party of 2. Obviously this is probably fine for a larger group. By the time the night ended - my husband was hungry again lol. Calories wise, I think - could be improved. Nobody should walk away from a restaurant needing to satiate themselves with a fried chicken burger. However it doesn’t take away from the fact that the food was absolutely gorgeous and everything was well explained! So kudos to the team ?

Hello I need to report a robbery!! I get that it was a tasting menu but seriously, TINY portions of food some of which felt like leftovers I could have put together from my own fridge, it was nice but so so little. Do not get the hype at all, we left there very drunk and hungry having spent a LOT of money, they don’t even do coffee, i don’t know how the staff gets through their shifts they must be starving! Way too pretentious a place but then likely I’m not the target audience. People have more money than sense ??

The squash, dehydrated and rehydrated for deep flavour and fudgy texture, is perked up with specks of raw Yorkshire rhubarb, vivid green spruce oil and a glass of Davenport’s sprightly, newly released Limney Estate 2014. Pink fir apple potatoes exemplify the ‘waste not, want not’ philosophy, in their pool of caramelised whey sauce (a cheesemaking bi-product), sourdough miso and fresh raw red flesh apple.

Exceptional experience . Will definitely recommend it. The service, the food, and the meaning behind d the concept is great. I liked the menu on the wall and all the attentions given to the Zero waste concept. Mistake mushroom and pumpkin were my favourite. Well done guys.

I've returned to this restaurant several times over the last three years and there are two things that particularly set it apart. there are always one or two dishes in the meal that blow my mind and that I can't imagine eating anywhere else - last night it was the flourish pumpkin, furikake and cultured cream. and the waiting and kitchen staff are always incredibly knowledgeable, polite and interested to speak about the menu. for example last night, one of our waitresses, who had been there only two weeks, had such a detailed knowledge of the menu, and was so sweet, that we spoke to her several times at length about our food, its preparation and provenance, loved our conversations and learned loads. James and the waiting team were all fantastic. The prices for both the light menu and the full tasting menu are excellent value and cheaper than any other London restaurants of equivalent quality (I've lived in London for 25 yrs)
