Walked in on Tuesday 5/3/2024 around 12:45 with an intention of buying an alcohol bottle for my friend's birthday. Considering that section is right by the till, the customer service was beyond disappointing. No hello, give me a shout if you need anything never happened (I'm 1.7m ,nearly 12st so you can clearly see me). That's all I was expecting as I don't like staff hovering on top of me. Needles to say, I purchased a different alcohol bottle for my friend elsewhere. So so so sad to receive that kind of customer service in a place like that, especially now after the business has been sold to a big fish.

I was on my way to the British Museum when I saw the Hotel Chocolat and couldn't pass the opportunity to stop in. I love chocolate so obviously I had to get dessert. I got the Ice Cream of the Gods in a tub (cup) and it was good, not too sweet and creamy. The staff was polite and efficient. Next time I'll try a sundae.

This company has fraudulently taken money out of.my account. I bought a box of chocolates on Sunday and Monday the money came out again. I have. Been into two stores-sent emails to a range of departments and they will not refund my money. Will not be shopping here ever again .Make sure you check receipt and items before leaving the store

Had been wanting to try the Hotel Chocolat cafe for ages now, and on a rainy Devon day decided to go and have a try. Me and @donnellyben ordered 2 drinks to share and we got the ‘Vanilla white chocolate shake’ and the ‘Milky velvetised hot chocolate’. Both were topped with Hotel Chocolat chocolate cream. The vanilla white chocolate shake was sweet and refreshing and a nice consistency; not too thick or thin. Neither flavours were too overpowering, however I think normal cream would have paired better with this. The hot chocolate on the other hand was perfectly combined with a rich chocolate flavour of the drink, with a lighter chocolate in the cream, and the velvetised style made it even smoother and creamier than normal. This definitely convinced me to get a velvetiser. As you can imagine with both of these drinks they got quite rich after a while, however the portion size given was enough for what we got. Pricing was a little expensive, but that is expected from a deluxe chocolate shop. Overall review: Date visited- 15th January 2023 Drinks- 8/10 Service- 9/10 Price- £££ Recommend to a friend? Yes✅

Customer service is very poor. I took my time to choose chocolates for Valentine’s Day and I asked them to pack separately in pink bags. Cashier told me and go and buy it from card shop, but didn’t let me buy theirs… never heard such nonsense and also wasted my time..

I love their chocolates and stopped there for a Hot Chocolate and to buy some chocolates. The Hot Chocolate was good but my review goes for the service. We were served by a guy and he was anything but nice, not rude but not nice and that didn’t help with our experience. After that we moved to the shop to buy some and we were served by a very nice lady, so she gets 5 *

I've just bought next day delivery and it was not honoured. Thanks for that Hotel Chocolat, you've just lost my future custom. Very disappointing and not helpful customer relations either, basically just denying any responsibility. Avoid

Our “Bean to bar” experience was excellent ! The staff - in particular Marina and Tash- really know how to make you feel welcomed , taken care of and excited about chocolate . Highly recommend you book your experience with them . Great team effort, lots of shared knowledge and delicious chocolate made by you!

Afternoon tea which was very nice. However really disappointed that the extra sandwiches we requested were billed at £10. Have never been anywhere for afternoon tea where additional sandwiches (and even scones on occasions) have not been offered and complimentary. 3 little finger sandwiches and 2 tiny squares of bread with toppings is not a lot! Scones and sweet bits were good. Bathrooms were in dire need of servicing. Won't return but on the upside location is fab, prosecco was very reasonablely priced, service was fine and we had a nice afternoon.

We attended on Saturday 6th August. The email told us to arrive at 16:15 for a 16:30 start, however the shop assistant told us we were far too early. After a wait outside the shop we were called downstairs to start the experience. We were offered Prosecco or juice and started with some chocolates to taste. We then moved onto making our own bar of chocolate. Josh the host was very easy to listen to and knowledgable about chocolate and the making process. We thoroughly enjoyed the session and would recommend to others.
