Stayed at the attached Premier Inn for 4 nights and ate at the beefeater two evenings and two nights. That was quite enough as the food and service was dire. One very competent member of staff but let down by the abilities and attitude of the others. A management failure for sure.

Great breakfast for £10. Self-service and you can go back a few times so if you have a big enough stomach, you could stock up for the entire day. The English breakfast was great, all of the ingredients were tasty. The continental goods were also fantastic and were fresh and tasty. At times there was a need for a restock, which I waited a few minutes for, but it was fine all-in-all. The staff were all pleasant and the tables were clean and tidy too.

Had lunch with a friend yesterday. Attentive staff, good food and excellent presentation, compliments to the chef. Great improvement from several years back.

OK, but nothing more. Inadequate heating for winter. Requested to take the starter plates as the main was ready even though we had not quite finished the starter! The ribeye was out of stock. Overall, need to do better to survive IMHO.

The festive menu was good and the food and service was good. The only thing was they did not have any pate, although it was part of the festive menu, and weren't able to offer coffee! Other than that, it was most enjoyable.

Had to wait 15 mins to be served at the bar. Only wanted a pint of Stella... one person behind the bar. 3-4 people serving food on floor? Not even busy! Perhaps they are understaffed? Dirty glasses and bottles not removed from tables including my table? Had to remove and take to the bar myself! Lacking professionalism, awareness including hygiene... The truth has to be told....
Great friendly service by Georgina, had such a lovely time, do not regret picking this place for Christmas dinner with friends

We ate here for a family occasion recently, greeted by a rude lady when we said there was x5 adults and x 1 toddler this seemed to be a problem as she said it was booked for x4 adults! Even doh the place was quiet and there was plenty of room! The lady that served us seemed bothered & grumpy & you could see she didn't enjoy her job (no need to take it out on the customers) Food only ok. If your not happy in the job just leave.

On Sunday 26th November Lewis and Cassie celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary party at the Travellers Rest Kenton. There is a perfectly sized function room for forty to fifty people and support was on hand to set everything up. We were all extremely well looked after throughout the afternoon and evening by Emilia, Priyesh, Josh and the rest of the team. We had two courses, and as there was a variety of menu options these were pre-chosen. The food was excellent and was nice to see, served on hot plates. All in all a wonderful afternoon and evening. Many thanks to the staff at the Travellers Rest in Kenton.

This place seems to be a great place to have dinner with friends and family and couples. We went here during our stay at the next door Premier Inn. During the time at visit, they were serving with a festive menu so we had that for dinner. Going in the restaurant seemed not so busy but we didn’t really see much of the restaurant so can’t really say, but it seemed to be understaffed. When we sat down, we had another group of two get a table when we had been given seats at a corner. Not sure about that but didn’t really complain. The waitress who was meant to take our order went to serve the other two first after being told we were before them. Again, didn’t complain. We waited 30 minutes and still the waitress didn’t take our order. So I had to get up from the table and go to the front and ask to take my order. When I got to the front, I approached the waitress just if she can take my order. She told me that she can but at the front with her, but then was told by what I can assume was a GM, that my order will be taken at the table. After the GM left, the women said even that was said, it will be best if I stay at the front to order. As I was ordering, I felt a little judgement by the waitress. We went by the order and at the end she asked me drinks, and I said 1 refillable glass and she said just one? For two of you? And then I said yes? And then she replied, that’s fine by me. Now, I don’t really care if that’s fine by you, that’s what my order is. I don’t need you telling me that it is fine by you. Anyway, I got back to my seat, few minutes passed, the GM Priyesh, approached us and told us that one of the starters we got wasn’t available and asked what we would like instead, we agreed one of the sides to which Priyesh was happy doing at no extra cost. The food was good and plentiful. We enjoyed it very much. At the end, I went towards Priyesh to pay for the bill, and I informed him about our experience. Priyesh was very understanding and apologised for what had happen to us. Priyesh then took some money off the bill as a gesture of goodwill. As I was leaving, I remembered that I never got my dessert and I quickly went up to Priyesh about it, and he was very helpful about it, he offered that I can take it to go, since I was next door. He went ahead to warm it up and wrap it for me to enjoy in my room. Overall, the experience was alright, the food was great and Priyesh is a member of staff that should be recognised for his hospitality. The waitress on the other hand, can’t say for certain (maybe bad day or long day) but could work on being more attentive and not come off as judgy.
