Love this place. We live with about 5 good pubs in easy walking distance and this is still hands down our local and where we choose to bring friends who visit. Always get a great reception and it's nice to have a pub where the staff turnover is low so you can get to know some friendly faces. Can see a few very harsh reviews re staff but in the year we've lived here they have always been amazing. My first time coming to a bar and it was a time to remember, I was entertained by a worker named ado who served the best drink I’ve ever had while being extremely funny and sociable, if you were to ever visit make sure to say hi to him, you won’t regret it
Absolutely love this pub and go when I visit family in the area. It’s so close to Herne Hill station so very easy to stop off at. Today visited for a Sunday roast after doing a Triathlon and we were VERY hungry. We had the roast half chicken and couldn’t fault the meal, delicious and very generous portion (half a chicken each). Superb gravy with red wine. I felt the lunch considerably better than most pub roasts. Staff were charming, relaxed, friendly and efficient. Lovely...read full review
