Service at this place was shocking. We were greeted upon arrival, shown to our table and given water but then had to wait 15 mins to place a drinks order and then a further 15 for the drinks to be delivered. Food was just ok. Roast potatoes were hard and reheated and lamb was very fatty. Overall disappointing I’m afraid.

The service was very slow. The food was nice but extremely expensive for what it was.

We came for Sunday roast.I ordered a chicken roast and my friend did the beef. On the menu, it says it’s half a chicken but it only came with the chicken breast (see picture). I asked the staff and they confirmed that there’s a mistake in the menu so they offered us a free drink for the inconvenience. I am surprised that no one has noticed the mistake as the staff is quite surprised when I asked and I’ve seen many customers having chicken as I arrived.Anyway the chicken breast was really juicy and the beef was very well cooked so we are rather satisfied with what we have. Just that if you charge me £23 for a chicken breast for roast, I’d be a bit iffy.

Nice pub and good beer but any place that doesn’t take cash get a low rating and I will never visit again until they take cash.

We went there on Sunday evening at 8 p.m. The welcome and service are charming. Very pleasant place. It’s a shame that everything wasn’t available a la carte but what we ate was very good.

A disappointing visit to somewhere we've become to regard as our local, and are regular visitors to, to bring friends and family as it's usually excellent. Service was incredibly slow, with a 45 min wait just for our drinks to arrive. It felt as though there weren't enough staff to cope with demand. We had the Sunday roasts, pork belly and vegetarian wellington. The trimmings were small, half a carrot, 1 whole onion, a cold Yorkshire pudding and cabbage that was way too over flavoured with star anise or something like that. Not great overall, and we hope for better service and food in future of we go back.
