The waiters and waitresses were very nice but sometimes a little overbearing when we were trying to talk, they'd fill the glasses of wine too often which wasn't necessary. Appreciate they were trying to be attentive but it could have been dialled down a bit. With regards to the oysters, sadly the sauce was not spicy enough (even though listed as 'spicy') and did not complement the oysters well. The combination of the sauce and oyster was gloopy with a curdled texture. We would have much preferred the classic Tabasco combination which always works, no matter the cuisine. Alternatively, a home-made sauce with more of a kick and not as thick.

Absolutely beautifully presented food, perfectly flavoured, impeccable. The staff were amazing. There is nothing that we would change. I could easily devour the whole menu. ❤️❤️❤️ The BEST Italian food I've eaten outside Italy. ?

Food is always fresh and creative. Seafood is an integral part of the menu. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in this area. Service is attentive and prompt but not overbearing.

Cozy and amazing atmosphere, Baccala has left the best impressions! All their dishes were delicious and were wonderfully served. I recommend to everyone! Definitely I would like to come back here again!

We love small independent Italian restaurants and this one did not disappoint. Great choices on a la carte or lunch menu and a good range of wines. Burrata was superb as was the roast octopus to start. The simple chitarrine was excellent followed by very interesting cheese plate. Nice to see local produce used like the bread, olive oil and honey. Very friendly staff and stylish surroundings. Highly recommend!

Baccala was small with a limited menu but the food was done very well, the service professional and very "Italian" and overall a good experience. We went there twice over a period of a week and if there was one issue was that the menu had not changed.

Haven't see such a good Costumer service since probably before COVID! Great attention to details, amazing service, superb food! By far my favourite spot at the moment!

This review is based solely on the olive oil tasting. We stopped in mid afternoon to do the tasting. The restaurant was quiet as it would be between lunch and dinner, and we did not eat anything. The service was great and included nice touches like complimentary house sparkling water. For the tasting you buy a portion of bread, and it comes with one olive oil, and you can add more from the selection of 7 oils at £3 per oil. This is one of the few restaurants where olive oil is showcased. The 3 we tried were excellent. Two of them were blends and one was a single varietal. They were from different parts of Italy and they were presented nicely with background information by the chef (owner?). My only criticism would be that the very nice sourdough bread actually has a strong flavour which does not always agree with the oils. A milder bread would allow the oil flavours to stay at the forefront. If you are eating at this restaurant and you don't know much about olive oil, do yourself a flavour and learn what good olive oil tastes like! If you are already an aficionado of olive oil, then you will be in heaven ?We did try some wines. The chardonnay by the glass was excellent and tells me that they probably have a very good wine list. Given the opportunity, I think I would definitely eat at Baccalà.

I can’t fault this place. The place is relaxed and casual yet you feel the warm atmosphere as soon as you are welcomed at the door. One of the best meals I have ever had. Fish cooked to perfection with beautiful vegetables. A wonderful choice of olive oils, which was a delight and so interesting. A lovely choice of wines. The service was outstanding-efficient and friendly but not intrusive. They noticed everything. A truly special dining adventure. What a find. We will be back.

Really great lunch - the food was amazing - the waiter very helpful and friendly. Thank you!

I recently visited a seafood restaurant, and I must say the experience was rather average. The service was just okay, nothing outstanding. Unfortunately, the management wasn't very polite when I wanted to step outside due to the crowded atmosphere, and they demanded an explanation, which made the situation a bit awkward since I was on a date night with my guest. The food was also average, although I did enjoy the octopus dish. The menu was quite limited, and they ran out of the main dish I wanted without informing me until it was time to order. Additionally, they didn't check back during the meal; we had to request the bill before they did so. Overall, it was an average experience.

Amazing food, amazing staff! Looking forward to going again!
