Excellent. But extremely expensive

This shop is a short walk from where I live and I have come to love some of their products but not anymore.Let me explain their greedflation for which I will be avoiding this shop:The fresh olives used to cost between £4-5 a pot and the best before date was at least 3 weeks - just like the fresh olives we get from the supermarkets that have a longer shelf life even now.Bayley & Sage have not only reduced the expiry date to a few days to a maximumof 1 week, but have also raised the prices by over 100%. A pot now -filled with loads of water- costs between £8-10.Some of their staff are friendly enough to sell a small piece of cheese and some aren't. I travel a lot for work and it's only myself, so buying more than what I can consume would only allow the cheese to go to waste. I have raised this with the staff and they were unwilling to accommodate. They are therefore not single/ busy people friendly. Then I used to like their Brazilian figs, which was like £0.80 per piece of which I only needed a few to make a salad. Within months they have increased it to £1 -they had the audacity to not label it accordingly but overcharge me at the till- and then again to £24.95 per kilo.Arabic flatbread and pita breads are almost £3 to £4.50 which you can get outside for a maximum £1.50 and one can't tell that the one's Bayleys and Sage have are "extra special". They taste the same as the ones from the Turkish/ Arabic shop.So yes, all in all this is beyond outrageous during a time where there is still a "cost of living crisis". Inflation has come down but Greedflation continues here. Continues and very obvious greedflation is not attractive. You will also find a lot of branded crackers, clotted cream and wines that are overpriced in this shop by up to 50% and are a lot cheaper in standard supermarkets/ online. It's therefore not a justification to say that they source from the very best and sustainable suppliers hence why the high prices, when the same suppliers / manufacturers have the same product available in supermarkets/ online but at 50% less.So this is a problem with the owners of this shop that seem to confuse selling food vs selling gold ?They also do not accept cash. If we don't use cash, we will loose cash. It won't affect me or b & s, but it will affect the bottom level and those more vulnerable.

Amazing selection of products. I personally love the cheese and the bottled milk.

Super posh food for foodies. Lots of healthy and not so healthy luxurious food and drinks.

A former favourite deli -- but I have just discovered to my disappointment that it isn't wheelchair-friendly: too much spillover of goods into the aisles. This makes it look even more generously provisioned, but I couldn't navigate the space successfully to shop. A pity, in this accessibility-aware age.

Impressive quality but on the pricy side. Great selection of cheese and hams. Polite staff and open late for a deli.

Margarita Pizza is one of the best pizzas I've had in UK.

An authentic French Baguette for £3.25? Almost took my fillings out! Go to your local Lidls for more authentic bakery experience and at 1/5th the price.
