the drinks are great (in the variety of coffee) but the ordering service is very rushed. you don't ask about the flavors and the lasy that took my order was rude and was questioning me why I have a cold and a hot drink.

Disappointed, brought my mum for a belated Mother's Day lunch. Was around1.00pm so busy, we were given a table for 2, next to the serving counter, in hindsight we should have left as definitely wrong place to sit. We ordered the scampi and I asked if we could swap the salad garnish for peas, instead of waitress coming back to inform it would cost more the person imputing the order called down to us from behind the counter. Food arrived in good time, sadly the scapi was over cooked, breadcrumbs were hard though scampi inside tasted fine, had to ask for a serving spoon. Staff were too busy to check whether everything was okay. £14.50 for Scampi & chips is probably about right but in all honesty what we received I think was truly only worth £7.50 plus an extra £4.70 for peas, I think is a bit high for Eltham high street. If I come again will just be for coffee and cake. If you want somewhere with a bustling atmosphere this is the place, they keep it clean sweeping up through service which is good. However cleaning products should be kept behind the counter not on a table where customer's sit.

One of my favourite places to eat in Eltham. My wife and I regularly come here for breakfast or lunch, and the food is always excellent (I recommend the chicken/bacon club sandwich). The staff are friendly, and in the summer it's lovely to sit outside and people-watch.

I went with a friend for lunch a few months ago last year and I asked them to change the cheese in the sandwich for me which they refused even though I hadn’t touched the food so that was disappointing. I realised they are not very accommodating as this isn’t the first time. They are busy a lot of the time so customer service isn’t always the friendliest or best but worst of all I got food poisoning after eating that sandwich as I ended up in hospital for awful pains that same night. I ended up being sick for 2-3 days after. I know it was for them as that was the only thing I had eaten that day. I reported it to the local council and did get an email response asking for more info, but regret not taking it further. All I can say is be wary of the food but I’ll never go back there again.

Friends recommended going as there is a good veggie choice. Ordered falafel, arrived within 5 minutes, 4 small over cooked balls on lettuce strands for £6. Very disappointing. In contrast the large portion of halloumi skewers with cranberry jelly looked delicious. There were 2 choices of veggie burgers, either portobello mushroom or spicy bean. I chose the latter with mushrooms as extra. Again, served with minutes. However the burger was completely dry, no dressing included and had to ask for mayo. Would I return..doubtful as the food wasn't that great and surprised that nobody came by to check how the meal was.
