I've never had fish and chips even close to this. The cider batter was cracked open to reveal an ample fillet of soft, fresh white flakes of tender fish inside. There was no surplus oil on the fish or the plate. The chips were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and the side dishes complemented the meal perfectly, with the tartare sauce being satisfyingly gherkiny and capery. All washed down with a decent pint of cider to match the cider batter. The service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing and the atmosphere was bustling.

We had such a lovely time here and got a surprise private room! We arrived late due to transport issues but the staff were so accommodating about this. We really couldn't have had warmer service, all of our waiting staff were so welcoming and lovely. Best fish and chips ever and the prices were very fair for London.

Great atmosphere in a skillfully crafted pub. Staff are excellent, helpful and friendly. At home having great couple of IPA's and stayed long enough to have the fish and chips... That was a hell of a fish and chips, batter crispy and perfect, the fish inside was moist and delicious. Cheers.

Although this is our local pub, we’ve never had a Sunday lunch there, so we decided to give it a try today and, to be honest, after reading some of the reviews before we booked, I was a little skeptical as to what the food would taste like. I have to say that the 3 dishes we chose were tasty and all were decent sized portions. The only thing that could have been better were the roast potatoes, they were a little bland. The service, as always was efficient and the atmosphere buzzing, without being too noisy!
