An amazing experience! The dishes were rich in flavour and the level between classic and contemporary was just right! The chicken pasta dish was very flavourful and the pigeon was cooked well. The pear sabayon and shortbread dessert I chose instead of cheese was very satisfying and pleasantly rich. The alcoholic drinks were reasonably priced as well. Meeting Michel Roux Jr. himself and getting a photograph and a signed menu was a great experience. I will miss this restaurant a lot. It's such a shame to see it close after having been open for nearly 60 years and having such an amazing history and role in the British fine dining scene. Keeping 2 Michelin stars for over 30 years is a sign of excellence and determination. I wish I had been able to go more times over the years. I had a fabulous meal both times I dined here! Thank you for the excellent food and hospitality. Wishing all staff the best of luck in their new jobs and Michel Roux Jr. a happy and relaxing time with his family and friends!

Always loved this restaurant. As it's closing in January, we wanted to have our last meal there as we have always been there on special occasions. Made a special trip today from Manchester where we live. What a let down, to say the least. Food was awful.

A justifying celebrated old dame of a place. Our first visit must alas be our last but we were so glad to have made it there. Impeccable from start to finish - service, food, ambience and a chat with Michel Roux jr. What a place. Will be sadly missed.

So the final review is... Delightful. Shame it's closing. Michele Roux is charm personified. Food is epic. Service a dream. Lovely old dame of a place that's clearly not changed in 40 years. So glad we went.

Fantastic dinner - not stuffy, attentive and friendly staff and superb food, the main man was on site and an absolute gent.

Having dined previously at Michelin Star restaurants we were very much looking forward to our reservation at the Gavroche . We were a party of three and ordered the menu exceptional vegetarian , the menu exceptional and one meal from the a la carte menu . Both menu exceptionals were disappointing , the only memorable course of both being the cheese soufflé , the cheese board offered a good selection but these are bought in and not made at the Gavroche , it’s also not the best idea to cut slices of different cheese using the same knives ! My wife who had chosen the a la carte menu enjoyed the cheese soufflé starter , the steak tournedos main and sticky toffee pudding dessert which interestingly wasn’t anything like sticky toffee pudding ! Perhaps it would be best to stay away from the menu exceptionals although this should not be the case ! Generally there was a lack of fine detail to the dining experience , a lack of enthusiasm from the staff other than the sommelier who was well worthy of a 2 Michelin star restaurant . Sadly we felt the whole experience was underwhelming and disappointing , perhaps tainted as a result of its upcoming closure .

We were all so looking forward to our visit. We all eat out several times a week and so have a good understanding of food & service. This was our first visit to a 2 Star Michelin Restaurant in quite some time so we were looking forward to that iconic step up that one should be able to justifiably expect at the prices charged. There was no step up from our usual eclectic mix of dining establishments - other than in pricing, and this was a very substantial step up! I’m not going into lots more detail because they’re closing anyway so it will achieve no purpose but at over £2000 spent for 4 (albeit with some very expensive Wines) it was very disappointing. I’m saddened as it’s put me off visiting other 2 Star Michelin Restaurants.

A wonderful evening. The dining room is beautiful and very comfortable. The service is exceptional. Professional and also very relaxed and friendly. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The signature cheese soufflé was amazing as was the crab mousse. My turbot was definitely the best I have eaten.

Sublime outstanding food and service. Expensive but then you pay for the best. The staff are so friendly and welcoming.

Dont waste your money it is not a patch on what it used to be. Ridiculously expensive and food only average .

Sublime food, service and ambiance, very expensive but then, this is as good as it gets. The staff and owners are just so kind and hospitable to everyone.

You would expect the best from Le Gavroche, and I was delighted that it not only met that expectation but exceeded it making a birthday a memorable experience. My thanks to the whole team, and what a team! For what it is, and where it is I actually think the prices are reasonable. To this so well, and consistently so takes so much. Thanks again.

Everything was perfect from pre dinner drinks through to an additional (and totally unnecessary) order of additional puddings and cheeses. Wine choices superb with red being perfectly decanted and both exceptional choices of white and champagne. For such a serious and celebrated restaurant it still manages to be incredibly friendly and warm with the most wonderful atmosphere. .
