Moko is bustling but the atmosphere is very calm and cosy. Picture sitting comfy and relaxing by a large window, people watching, with a mug of matcha on a rainy day. It's bliss. Moko can fulfil this for you.The decor is a slice of the Land of the Rising Sun. Their walls are lined with ceramics, hand picked from different vendors tracing from the top to the bottom of Japan.Moko's matcha latte (hot and cold) is the best I've had in London. The food is affordable and filling, but I wouldn't say it stands out. For example, the ice cream is too icy and not creamy, but the drinks are worth visiting over and over again. The staff are also really friendly and attentive. Overall, I highly recommend this little independent.

Super cute cafe, reminds me of the cute coffee shops in Tokyo. We walked in and the staff were making a cake for one of the teams birthday; so we all sang happy birthday. SOOO cute. Such a delicious little hidden gem.

A quaint Japanese cafe with exceptional matcha. The cafe is very small and popular so you may have to queue a bit.The matcha honey latte was amazing - it's rich and thick and bursting with the earthy flavour of matcha. There are sugar cubes on the table for people who prefer a sweeter taste.I personally did not enjoy the ume onigiri, which had nothing inherently wrong with it, I just found the tomato very sour. The an-butter toast was so, so good though! The rice-based matcha brownie was too dry for my liking, but the matcha cheesecake was really good. Highly recommend that one.Overall, worth coming here to try their matcha products, but the rest of their menu can be a hit or miss.

Moko made cafe is a cosy, no fills cafe in Hoxton. I had heard good things about their nigiri and matcha drink so I was very excited to try and it didn’t disappoint. I was attended to by the lovely young lady working there who made sure I was seated promptly. I ordered the tuna mayo nigiri and matcha float. They did let me know they usually don’t recommend a rice dish with a matcha drink/float, but I let them know I wouldn’t mind the combination. I was already intending to order a dessert to compliment the drink and went with her recommendation of the Kinako and red bean roll cake. The nigiri was for 2.80 and was lovely and warm. It comes with a tiny salad that compliments it nicely. The matcha float was lovely and creamy, not bitter but almost chocolatey in flavour. I already have my eyes set on the Japanese matcha powder they are selling for £25 per 100 grams which they use in their drinks and desserts. The drink was for £6.The Kinako and red bean roll cake was light and delicate in flavour. I appreciate that the red bean was not overwhelming; However, I don’t feel like I got a hint of the Kinako. This cost £4.Unfortunately, the roll cakes are not fully on display like the other baked goods they have (lime and coconut cake, matcha brownie, muffins, etc.) So, I couldn’t see it before ordering except from a picture they have by the tills. I would have like it to be a bit more moist or perhaps contain more cream or have more fruit. The yuzu cheesecake might have been more to my style but I wanted to try what I thought would have been more unique. My bill came to £12.80. They also do loyalty stamp cards. Please note that you cannot use your laptop here. It says so on the menu and they will politely inform you. I’m sure this is down to it being a smaller sized cafe, so it’s quite understandable.I will definitely be back to try something new next time I’m in the area.

The coffee shop isn't exactly "cosy" since it's quite small. However, the service staff are polite. Keep in mind that you can't linger for too long as there are often customers waiting in line.Unfortunately, I witnessed a Japanese lady (possibly the owner or manager) blaming her staff for a mistake with an order, which was surprising.Despite this, she maintained a pleasant demeanor with customers but could suddenly change her expression to her staff.I hope they consider moving to a larger location in Hoxton.

The matcha latte is a must, even better than the ones in Japan.

Came here last month as this place has been on my list for the longest time!! Everyone around me was ordering onigiri so felt like I had to get one! I got the salted konbu onigiri as part of the lunch set, which came with miso soup. The onigiri was nice and the miso soup tasted so homemade, however, again, I don’t feel like I got what I paid for. Looking past the price, the food was yummy and I would love to come back to try their sweet treats and specialty drinks!!The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were all wonderful!!!

Had a gorgeous couple of hours here, the matcha and cakes are delicious, the vibes are cozy and the staff are lovely. I also bought some anko (red bean) paste which it turns out was made by someone sitting at another table! Really feels like a community cafe run with love. Thank you for the meal, I want to come back soon ❤️
