It's a good cheap pub for Farringdon, quite traditional. However please sort your men's toilets out, they absolutely STINK of old urine and ammonia. We reserved an area at the back and spent the whole evening with the stench of wee wafting at us whenever the door was opened.

Noisy blokey type pub. Not one to take your nearest and dearest to. No real ale despite three hand pumps. It was a warm day on my visit and cigarette smoke wafted in from the smokers outside. It’s a pity as the inside is quite traditional despite the two tv screens showing the cricket which no one was watching. All pints are £4 from 11am to 5pm which probably accounts for the loud atmosphere and the crowd at the bar.

Finished work and came here for a couple of pints before catching the train home from Farringdon. £4 per pint, Monday to Friday, 11am until 5pm, makes this place one of the cheapest options around, particularly if you’re not a fan of Weatherspoon pubs (which I’m not). Three cask ale pumps but none on, at the time of my visit, contrary to the pub’s description here. Nevertheless, £4 for a decent pint of Guinness is not to be sniffed at.A proper regular’s pub, which I like, and I don’t mind the swearing. Unfortunately, cheap prices also attract people who get a bit leery by 4:30pm; one of whom took exception to me for sitting at the bar, minding my own business (maybe because I was wearing a suit & tie?). I ignored him, and carried on minding my own business, but I do think that the Polish manager (who appeared to be a nice guy) should have subtly reprimanded this guy.I’ve been here once before but now wouldn’t recommend. It would be a horrible experience for an unsuspecting tourist to be abused in such a manner. Thankfully I have a thick skin!

Loved the shuffleboard. Beer but didn't seem to be much food on offer.

The Hat and Tun is a relaxing pub, hidden within Farringdon. It has a special - draft pints £4 between 11-5 Monday through Friday. Dogs and children are welcome (children until 6 pm); the 6 pm time limit I don’t agree with, as so many people want to have a pint after work and need to bring their children with. This means my daughter and son in law, who work until 6 M-F and live close by, will not be able to go there again. We also miss Farida. I would change the children’s time to 8 or 9 pm.

Enjoyed a pint of Camden Brewery IPA here. Very busy when we called.
