So on the few occasions I’ve been to the Larkshall I think it’s a great pub to visit, especially in summer. It’s dog friendly and has a huge beer garden and has been done out to a really nice standard and people have said the food is good (not tried it). However last night I visited and was thrown off the table I had sat down at because the couple who had ordered food at the bar said the staff had allocated them the table I was sitting on outside in the beer garden. I challenged this with them but they insisted that the bar staff had allocated the table. Not wanting to cause a fuss I moved. I could understand if this had been reserved in advance and had a note to say so but to just hand over a table without checking if it’s occupied doesn’t make sense so maybe something to think about. I’m knocking a star off for that, otherwise it would have been top marks.

First visit, and we will definitely be back. We had a superb Sunday Roast. Whilst a lot of pubs say they do good roast they often don’t deliver. This is not the case. Food was fabulous. Great wine list. Dog friendly. Good service and overall a really nice experience.

A treat for the the tastebuds. The current 4.2 star rating in my humble opinion is wrong. The food here is a far better than higher rated places. From the nibbles, the table sampled the scotch egg. No one at the table likes scotch eggs but I insisted because the reviews raved about it. We all now apparently like scotch eggs. It was delicious - peppery haggis with a moist yoke.Speaking of moist I could devour 37 of those juicy chicken thighs and bathe daily in the blue cheese dip.Shared the poterhouse and it came with a healthy portion of chips each, an array of sauces (chimmichuri, peppercorn, bernaise). The steak was very tasty and a lovely touch to include the bones so we could scoop out the bone rich marrow.Other honourable mentions for the padron peppers and mac & cheese. All the staff were very friendly and provided recommendations. Plenty of room for a pram too.Looking forward to returning.

Having previously been here for lunch, we booked to come back for a family dinner. We all really enjoyed our meals. The steak was cooked really well, and tasted great. The batter on the fish was beautifully crunchy, and the burgers were a good size, not over inflated like some places we've been. The staff were all really lovely and friendly, without being intrusive. It was a little quiet for a Friday evening, which is a shame, as it's a lovely pub, but it is not long since Christmas, so maybe that's why. Hopefully, it will get busier as the weeks go by. We will certainly be back. Oh, and an extra bonus, they are dog friendly.

We went there for Christmas Eve and had booked our table. All six of us had the roast dinner, 4 Turkey and 2 Mushroom Wellington. Everyone agreed that the food was excellent, well cooked and well presented. Staff were attentive but not over the top Reasonably priced.

First visit in Years. The food was great and good value, the staff friendly and a decent range of beers. Lots of outdoor seating when it's warmer.

Beautiful pub, wonderful staff and lovely food. I'm so glad I finally found a local pub that does a great vegetarian Sunday roast - we loved it so much, we've now been two Sundays in a row! Very dog friendly. Would recommend!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Sunday roast available (wellington mushroom)

Delicious food, cosy gastropub The food was quite simply excellent! What a pretty pub with a very impressive beer grill garden with extensive outdoor seating. Inside the bar there is comfy cosy seating where you can indulge and chat with a great selection of drinks, wines and bar snacks. In the main restaurant there are plenty of tables located over 2 floors with cozy zones ideal for either relaxed dining with friends, family or business colleagues. The pub is grade 1 listed and retains its old worldly charm. Despite all the beauty of this charming pub, the star attraction is the food! Good value for money, the main menu is very well balanced and the 35 day aged steaks are delicious. Head Chef Tom Haste is a culinary Mozart! All diners in my party indulged in the delicious food and appreciated the mouth watering attention to flavour detail in all meals. The waitering staff were very friendly, service was leisurely yet very attentive. From start to finish, really enjoyed our visit to the Larkshall Gastropub, can’t wait to return!
