this place is actually a south african grocer. I walk across many times but decided one day to try them. Tried their homemade beef sausages and biltong, had to say it belong to some of the best tasting quality meat I have ever come across, prices are reasonable for biltong too which comes at £5.20 which is cheaper than any other packaged ones you buy elsewhere, great gem!

The opening time on the Google Map is 10:00a.m. to 21:00p.m. I arrived at 20:40p.m. The shop was closed, very bad experience, definitely not recommend

Came here looking for a gift for some South African friends. Piri was working and was exceptionally helpful and friendly. They have a large selection of south African treats and products, as well as a very impressive biltong selection.

Never open when Google say they are. In fact if there is not a “back in 5 mins” message on the door they are always closed. Come here purposefully sometimes. Always closed. Not coming back.

Loveliest South African goods, all the hits, no misses. Nice to sit out as well (when it's not raining), very good value as well. Highly recommended if you need a call back to some African styles snacks!!

Love the place. There are many across London, but this one cooks food. Steaks, Boeri rolls and some othe authentic SA dishes. Come visit and see all the SA products that we SAs are so familiar with.

Best quality for money although since they stopped selling biltong in slabs I only visit now and on where before it was rigorous routine. Bring those vacuum packed biltong steaks back please!

Chilly Disappointment: Jo-Burges at The Savanna ShopA spontaneous visit to The Savanna shop left me with a cautionary tale about their Jo-Burges. Ordering two of these burgers, I was informed they were freshly unfrozen – an eyebrow-raising start. The first bite shattered my expectations – not with flavor, but with coldness. The South African charm I anticipated was replaced by an unwelcome chill. Perhaps cold burgers were a new trend, but my queasy stomach suggested otherwise.Unfortunately, my experience ended on a sour note as I battled waves of nausea, culminating in an unpleasant aftermath. The Savanna shop's presentation did not match the disappointing reality of Jo-Burges.In short, these burgers were far from the warmth and quality I expected. Cold, unappetizing, and with regrettable consequences, they fell short of The Savanna shop's supposed standards.
What a place a taste from home from home supurb food amazing atmosphere staff helpful beyond belief and all credit to the staff. And the amazing chip spice they do just no rush and on the ribs it's 2bites then your at the bone and well done to the staff on the shift today on 5th August.Kid-friendliness: Welcoming to allWheelchair accessibility: Easy AccessDietary restrictions: Helpful staff no what allergens etc in food

Growing up with a parent from S.A and knowing what real biltong actually is, I cannot reccomend this place enough. Real biltong is far better than American jerky, if you're a meat eater it is a 100% have to try.

Great bespoke South African butchers and their hot food is amazing as well. Both the Savanna Burger and the Boerewors roll were superb. It's quite close to Borough Street Food market so if you're visiting the market for the street food, you don't want to miss this place.

The Savanna London Bridge is an amazing stop for a fabulously cooked borewors roll, ice cold drinks & super friendly staff. Keep up the good work ? Made my day thank you so much.

Found this little gem whilst walking today. Nipped in for a cold cider, and hot boerworst. Manager and staff were really friendly. And I now have a source for my biltong!
