Bun set menu is ideal for fast lunch. Mushroom and chicken buns are worth tasting.

Great vegan options, the dressing on the salad is exceptional.

Their menu is mostly bao buns, they offer bun box for £12 which comes with 2 baos, 2 gyozas and seasonal slaw.
You can pick from 4 different flavours, my favourite was fried chicken and crispy tofu but the katsu prawn and pork belly were good too.?Location: Old Spitalfields Market?Closest station: Liverpool Street?Price: one bun £5.5, two buns £10, bun box £12 (2 buns, 2 gyozas, slaw)?Recommendation: I liked the most fried chicken and crispy aromatic tofu

Customer Interaction at Yum Bun @ Spitalfields MarketMy boss, who is a devoted fan of the shop has shared this experience with me occasionally but not too well. I felt compelled to share an incident that occurred yesterday at Yum Bun @ Spitalfields Market, which left me with an unpleasant encounter involving one of the employees.I was asked to buy some buns on behalf of my boss and, upon approaching the shop, noticed a light grey veil cloth covering the entrance, causing me to hesitate in approaching the employees inside. Not being familiar with the shop's operating hours, I sought clarification from a cleaning official (wearing a purple jacket signifying an official) within the market. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide information about the shop's status and advised me to inquire directly with the employees inside.Approaching the employees with courtesy, I inquired if the shop would be open later in the day. Regrettably, the response from one of the employees was unexpectedly rude. Despite explaining that I was not from the area and attempting to convey my question politely, the employee responded with discourtesy, stating, "Can't you see?"Having worked as a bartender myself, I understand the challenges at the end of a shift and the desire not to be disturbed. However, the nature of my inquiry was a simple one about the shop's operating hours. I left the encounter feeling disheartened, as such a response seemed disproportionate to my harmless question.I sincerely hope that this isolated incident does not reflect the standard of customer service that Yum Bun @ Spitalfields Market aims to provide. I trust that appropriate steps will be taken to ensure the continued satisfaction of customers.

I tried the chicken bun and the bread was very hot and fluffy and the chicken was very good. The sauce and salad brought a little freshness, in short a good bun.I also had the skinny fries, classic and well fried, but the sauce was really good!! A garlic mayo with a touch of black bean, very addictive. The saleswoman was kind and sometimes helped people order when they were having trouble

Bao box (chicken bao is my fav) is so worth it. Very filling, tasty, and worth the money. Very busy during office lunch hours so be prepared to wait for like 20-30

Best bao bun texture I have found in London. Very fresh and fluffy!

We tried the bao box with tofu and prawn buns. We loved the prawn the most! Gyoza’s were also great!

Menu consists of prawn, chicken or tofu buns. Side orders compliment ie chips. Decent size portion. Variety of sauces. Absolutely delicious. Plenty of tables both standing and seating available if not peak time, though tables need cleaning. All made fresh in the spot as ordered. Hygiene was lacking in both seating areas and the open kitchen possibly due to the volume of customers.

Delicious buns but have taken a star off for slow service

The service here was very poor,I placed the first order but still waited 30 minutes to receive it even though they were not busy. The food itself was really good, the bao bun was soft and steamy and the chicken was beautifully crisp. The salad was perfectly seasoned and very crunchy ,with a little kick and the gyoza were beautifully golden on the outside with a nice warm filling.Though the food was phenomenal, I wouldn’t recommend due to the service I received the day I visited and the market is really busy but that was to be expected.

I was very excited to try the Bao’s based on the reviews and ordered one prawn and one tofu but unfortunately they were underwhelming. The actual buns themselves were fluffy and nice, but inside the prawn one the flavour was lacking - just didn’t taste like much, I had to go to another stall to put siracha mayo on it to make it a bit better, there wasn’t enough filling either and the tofu one there was too much hoisin sauce - just not a great flavour in it and and the tofu itself was a bit bland ... £10 for two is fair but not for the taste.Staff were friendly but rushed off their feet/ took about 15 mins for the order as big queue.

By far the best meal we had while in London. The buns are so soft and chewy, the tofu amazing and the sauce out of this world! It's downstairs in the market.

The buns are indeed yum. We have two each, surprisingly filling, didn’t need the Gyozas. Also sell ginger kombucha, really good for the gut

My wife and I ordered the bun box as a snack to share - one pork bun and one chicken, it also came with a coleslaw. When you order they give you a little device the lights up when your food is ready, which is handy so you don't have to listen out or anything! Spitalfields was pretty busy so we then had to try and find somewhere to eat...,! In the box we got, the coleslaw was very nice, the pork quite nice but I didn't really like the chicken that much. Would try this place again.
