I truly cannot fault this place. I come in maybe once or twice a week for one of their cakes and on occasion a bit more such as a roll to take away if I’m going somewhere. The guy who runs it is lovely (Sundeep is his name I think?) and to a person all his staff are great as well.

My wife and I are regulars to this beautiful little cafe, we always receive excellent service and have never had a bad experience, in fact, I bring my work colleagues many times after telling them it's the best cafe around. This is genuine review as a customer and I have no ties with the owner or staff. Peter (Ambulance man)

Needs to improve on customer service. Not too sure if the cakes are freshly baked in store, very expensive

Honestly, this has to be the worst place for coffee anywhere in Merton with service to match. We ordered a flat white and latte and first up, they looked exactly the same. Both tasted grainy, bitter and watery. Upon letting the owner / manager know, I was met with nonchalance. Any decent place would at least have offered an alternative as a goodwill gesture. Please save your money and try any of the other options along the high street.

Excellent family bakery. Great customer service and very friendly. Been getting my coffee here for years and it angers me to see bad reviews.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I can’t think of a worse place to visit. Me and my husband came for a drink and a bite to eat but absolutely no customer service, completely ignored and very rude to other customers around me (I felt very uncomfortable). Definitely won’t be returning.

Absolutely disgusting service, the rudest manager I have ever met, shouting and abrupt, no wonder it has such a low rating. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!In response to owner: I have no idea what he is talking about as I was sat INSIDE the establishment with food I purchased from THIS establishment , but judging by the manor you reply to your reviews (especially considering you clearly have the wrong person) you should re-consider your customer service techniques!

If you visit a restaurant/bakery on a regular basis, as we did in New Malden at the end of May and beginning of June, 2023, you get to know a few details about it. The restaurant/bakery we visited is on the High Street of New Malden, London, England, and we were visiting from Canada. Our attention was compelled to this Manuels at 87 High Street because previously we had visited a Manuels in Wimbledon Park and found it to be excellent. The Manuels in New Malden turned out to be as excellent and -- over repeat visits -- we discovered why it is a popular spot. As a bakery, it is brilliant. The baked goods appear in a front window for passersby to see, as well as in glass cases inside the premises. The glass cases create a buffer between the server (he might be the owner) and the customers. From having visited a number of times, we discovered that the customers are both "take-out" purchasers as well as "dine-in" customers. The man who served us, whose name is Sundeep, seemed to have a raport with many customers, which leaves me to believe that they are regulars. We, as tourists, were simply visitors, but next time we are in New Malden we shall have coffee, sausage rolls, or baked goods at this Manuels. They were good! Importantly, the premises are spotlessly clean. The selection of breakfast, brunch, or lunch items was extensive and when we ordered something that needed to be hot on arrival at our table, it was hot! As a sidebar observation, we detected a community-involvement trait at this Manuels. They have a relationship with a local historical society and the decor at this restaurant/bakery involves a number of photos which tell about the history of New Malden. Interesting! This Manuels is an easy walk from the New Malden train station and situated in the midst of many charity shops; if you like to browse at chartiy shops! We would definitely return to Manuels in New Malden!

A lovely bakery full of delicious homemade cakes and is also a cafe offering sandwiches, toasties and jacket potatoes. Such friendly staff who provide their customers with great service and clearly loved by the locals. A place of calm from the hustle and bustle of the high street. Highly recommended.

Cornish pasty was the closest to one's I have had in Cornwall but a tad over priced for the size. Bacon and cheese turn over was okay but nothing special the bread was lovely and worth every penny and the caramel slice in all honesty very bland. Such a let down. The size was brilliant but flavour lacking! Will definitely try more of what's to offer though the owner is truly wonderful man and all baked onsite and been established for many many years.

AWFUL customer service and very unwelcoming. The man that runs the shop is so unbelievably rude with no interpersonal skills at all. He does not know he to speak to customers. He was very snappy and abrupt, acting as if he is busy, when he had two customers. We ended up leaving before getting our food because of his immature and hostile attitude. Very bitter person who obviously has a lot of issues that he reflects poorly onto his business. AVOID THIS PLACE. IN REGARDS TO THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER: Also my mask had just broken and I explained this to him; however, he continued speak to us in a rude and disgusting manner instead of just asking professionally and politely. Lack of interpersonal skills. It's about the delivery of your request. Something that is paramount when running a business. Very bitter and aggressive man. No wonder his bakery only has 3.6 stars. Just look at the previous comments saying how he shouted at a child. That poor family!

Perhaps the nicest cafe in town, freshly made to order sandwiches are fantastic and its not another Korean cafe !

Carrot cake is soggy and the manager doesn't know how to run a business without being abusive towards customers.
