Always been our go to place for birthdays. First time since it has reopened and was really disappointed. Loved the Cajun chicken Ciabatta but it was no longer on a really reduced menu. Opted for a plant burger at £12 was horrified when I got it served on a small plate literally a veggie burger in a bun with a slice of tomato and some lettuce. No onion, cheese, side salad! I cannot believe it was £12!!! To order fries was another £3.50. The service and staff were lovely as usual and the rest of the party were happy with their food. Which all looked a lot more impressive than mine, the portions are also reduced to what they used to be. We will sadly not be returning.

First visit and won't be the last, what a good bit of quality grub.

Haven’t been here in so long only went for the chicken Florida and it’s been taken off the menu, so I can’t go back, but when I used to go was beautiful and really enjoyed it!

Here's the reason I gave you 2-star rating. This is the 2nd Time I've popped in since you 1st opened. The 1st time I was not very impressed as the food was very average. So we decided to try it again and didn't think anything had really changed since you 1st opened. The menu was very limited and the Burgers we ordered were pretty boaring to be honest.

I ordered a burger and the burger was literally red raw inside and smelt like raw mince . I spoke to the chef who was quite sarcastic saying come down to the store and get another . I’m to far from the restaurant which is the reason I ordered delivery. And the chef basically said it was my fault as I didn’t leave a comment on there . I order from 5guys , Gbk and my burgers have never been raw meat like that . It’s disgusting that they can serve food like that . How hard is it to cook a burger !!!!! You need a new chef asap

We have visited the rib shack for a number of years but what has happened? Is it under new management? We went for my sons birthday but the food was embarrassingly bad . Small portions , straight from the freezer practically and very expensive. We didn’t want to spoil my sons birthday by complaining but we will not be returning . My chicken escalope was like cardboard .

Went to Ribshack and had the jerk chicken which was very tasty. Would happily go back again and try the ribs and burger based on what others have also said!Kid-friendliness: Nice and spacious for kids and attentive staff

We have been twice to the Rib Shack since it reopened - it was that good we came back two weeks in a row!Loving the new condensed menu - as everything is homemade and fresh, and you can really taste the difference, rather than other chain American restaurants where everything is frozen.Would particularly recommend the burgers and the truffle Tots, although all the dishes we have tried have been super tasty. We need to try the ribs next time as they looked amazing! Also had a delicious espresso martini which was very well made.Staff are really friendly and the service was great. We found everything really good value for money too.We are so glad to have this restaurant on our doorstep - looking forward to visiting again soon!

We have been going to the ribshack for so many years, we were regulars and loved the staff and The menu there. We were so sad when it closed. So tonight we were thrilled to come back for my mothers birthday with all the family but unfortunately we all left so disappointed. The new staff where friendly and nice however our food took so long to come out they where serving the takeaways so fast and we where just left to ourselves for way to long. The menu has massively dropped and we were all so sad to see there wasn’t any fish mains available or pasta dishes or a vegetarian option unless you ordered a veggie burger. Your food no longer comes with sides you have to pay for it seperatly and most of us ordered the prawn cocktail was nothing like before, half the size and to strong withMint and onion. Then lots of us ordered the chicken schnitzel as there wasn’t a great deal to choose from was the most dry chicken and way to much of it. All our food came out at such different times one of us actually finished our burger by the time our fries came out. My eldest child was really disappointed with his chicken strips they were again so dry and bland and he is so easily pleased. It’s quite expensive for what they’re serving. Was very sad as we all said we will no longer be returning there and that was our absolute favourite restaurant.

My Wife and I had an evening out with my Brother in law and sister in law and went to The Rib Shack in Petts Wood as it had been recommended previously I have to say we certainly were not disappointed, wonderful food, friendly and obliging staff, not bad prices either, we will certainly be back one day, Happy Customer Kevin

It appears that the Rib Shack has changed hands as a few things have changed over the last year. The main change is the menu. No longer is there as wide array of ribs, burgers, and other dishes. Where before there were a dozen burger choices, now there are perhaps 8.What's more, there is only one meal that a vegetarian or vegan could eat. I was expecting one or two fish dishes but the only offering was a vegan burger. I was a little disappointed as there used to be a bigger selection. The ribs seemed to be good from the response others in my party gave, as well as the steak. I had the garlic chilli prawns with mac&cheese and chips to make up my meal given that I don't eat meat. Those items were nice and we'll presented. In terms of service and atmosphere, we had our lunch on a Sunday afternoon at around 3pm. We were the only customers there aside from one other table for 2, which arrived just before we left. I'm sure it livens up towards the evening or in the week. However, given how quiet it was it took nearly 45 minutes for our food to arrive from the kitchen. We received our drinks quickly enough and were offered several more drinks throughout our meal. It was only when we flagged the food delay that it suddenly appeared. So, that was not the best experience. Once the food did come out though, it was good quality, plentiful and well put together. Again, we did feel a little disappointed at the narrower choice of food on offer. The staff were friendly enough and communicated well. Given that they did not have a lot to keep them occupied, we didn't notice any inappropriate chatter, behaviour or anything that can typically happen when it gets quiet. So, hats off to them for that.If you've not been back here in a while, I'd check the menu ahead of coming in (once the website is back online). If you're a carnivore then you'll be fine but if you were expecting the old fish and salmon or even halloumi dishes, they've all gone. The Rib Shack only having one option for vegan/veggies is very limiting. In terms of price, given the more limited menu I felt that £180 for 5 people (starter, main, chips + 1/2 drinks), which is £36 a head wasn't extortionate but felt a little high given all the changes and limited menu. Please add the salmon or a fish fillet dish back to your grill menu, and widen the options for veggie/vegans beyond the staple go-to vegan burger. I promise this will make a big difference to the general comfort of your guests in the long run.In summary, a nice place to go if you don't mind a slightly higher than average price point. Limited choice for non-meat eaters and somewhat slower service (although this is based on a single experience). Well worth giving the Rib Shack a go. I would just temper expectations if you used to visit here before it's changed management.

After waiting an hour and 50 minutes, yes almost two hours, for our main course last night for a family birthday meal, and 3 being not very nice at all, we won’t be going back. We watched the takeaway orders go out one after the other, and our meal was not forthcoming as there were ten of us apparently! The waitress staff were very nice, but the chefs need to take a good look at their service. My sister didn’t have a starter and so having arrived at 6.30, her meal came at 8.20pm, and the slimy jerk chicken and the rice were inedible. Such a shame as we try our hardest to eat local, and ended up taking the birthday cake home in its box uncelebrated. Truly disappointing!
