I had the most horrendous experience at Golden Orient Chinese Takeaway that compelled me to write this review. As a frequent customer, I've always enjoyed their food and service, but what transpired during my recent visit was utterly unacceptable.On Thursday, 28th September 2023, I placed an order as usual. However, this time, the quality of the food I received was shockingly subpar. Expecting a resolution to this issue, I decided to contact the restaurant and express my concerns. Little did I know that this simple act would lead to a nightmarish encounter with the front-of-house staff, particularly a woman who identified herself as Helena, then Hay, and later another name.My attempt to address the food quality issue was met with complete disrespect and indifference. Helena, or whatever her real name is, displayed a complete disregard for customer values and showed a shocking lack of professionalism. When I pointed out the issues with my order, her response was nothing short of outrageous.She not only refused to acknowledge the problems with the food but also dismissed my concerns callously. Her words were both offensive and deeply hurtful. She told me that if I had a problem, I should come to the shop. When I requested a replacement or a refund, she flatly refused, saying, "If you don't like the food, then don't eat it."This level of customer service is not only appalling but also inexcusable. It's disheartening to see a restaurant I've trusted and frequented for so long tolerate such behaviour from its staff. The front-of-house team at Golden Orient Chinese Takeaway needs urgent retraining on how to treat customers with respect and professionalism.Despite this terrible experience, I want to believe that it does not represent the values of the restaurant as a whole. However, if such incidents continue, it's inevitable that Golden Orient Chinese Takeaway will lose many loyal customers as they have now lost me as a customer.In conclusion, my recent visit to Golden Orient Chinese Takeaway was marred by a complete lack of customer care and respect. I sincerely hope that the management addresses this issue promptly and takes corrective action to prevent such experiences in the future. As of now, I'm left deeply disappointed and disturbed by this encounter and do not recommend this restaurant until significant changes are made in the front-of-house service and quality of food.

Ordered in Uber, the quantity is great, delivered on time and the price is affordable but the taste is awful, especially the chicken fried rice. Bad odour and the quality of rice is very bad. My intention is not to defame the restaurant but want to help fellows out.

Just had a takeaway. My special chow main had hardly any meats in it. And just 2 tiny prawns. Terrible

Ordered via just-eat. Food arrived in time. All food was cooked nicely and had flavour. They don’t do the crispy chips but these were tasty. Sweet and sour is on the sour side but my family prefer this.

Food arrived earlier than expected and was hot. The menu has a very good range. Food was nice but not great, no stand out flavours and included lots and lots of onion. Too much. Chilli beef was very chewy. Spring rolls were dull and they’re usually light crisp with good content. Mostly cabbage today. Noodles, seaweed and ribs were very good and made the meal. We’ve been coming here for many years and would usually rate 4 stars so maybe an off weekend or change of staff.

We ordered a takeaway last night for the first time from this Chinese and we will definitely be using it again . The food was delivered on time it was very tasty , not greasy at all, and hot .

Been going here for a while but guessed they recently changed owners. I ordered on the website as it was raining and didn’t really fancy going out. Ordered at 7:30pm and picked the ASAP time. Got to 8:15 and called the takeaway and the person on the phone said that it left 15 mins ago and will arrive shortly. Got to around 8:30pm and nothing, I called again and she said it’s should be there. I said “that if it doesn’t arrive in 10 minutes what can I do?” She replied “ what ever you want? “, and long story short, I had to go to the takeaway at 8:45pm and my order was still there. After arguing with the delivery driver and not with the owner, requested for a refund and that didn’t seem like an option for them. Ask for a new food, they just recooked it.

Delievery took 1 hour 40 minutes. They said it was waiting to be delivered but then said it wasn't cooked. Portions are small - whole box no where near full

Ordered Singapore Fried Rice and it was the worst experience taste wise ? very disappointed. It’s the worst Singapore fried rice I ever had in my life.

Disgrace.........nearly 2 hours and our food still isn't here.......call to find out what's going on and they've got no idea what's happening....said the food will be here when they knock at the door....just kept getting palmed off.......still not here but let's hope its right.........steer well clear they are useless
