The Lord Roberts has long been a favourite place of ours for brunch, tea or just a cake & coffee after a walk around the Web Estate but they started to do evening meals recently so we gave it a try. The new owners (from mid 2023 I think) bring a Lebanese twist to the Lord Roberts and so it's not surprising that dinner is Lebanese only cuisine. The menu is quite limited, which we really like, but it's all home cooked and caters for veggies and meat eaters alike. Our visit was a Friday night and we were the only patrons (only been doing dinner for a few weeks so the word is out there much) but it didn't matter because the nature of the place is that it feels cosy and vert welcoming. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and although they are just finding their feet they laid on a lovely meal and spent time with us explaining the origin of the dishes etc. I'm trying to remember what we had (the menu isn't online yet) - Tabbouleh (salad with bulgur), Baba Ghanouj (aubergine dip), Humus, Lamb Kibbeh, Lamb Kafta, Batata Harra and I'm sure there were a couple of other pastry things that wrapped lamb or cheese. All of it was great, portions were generous and the quality of the ingredients super fresh. The only thing to note: - there is wine, beer and cider available but it's all non-alcoholic and although we had a crack at most, it was all a little sweet. I don't know if they would allow BYO with/without corkage but I would suggest asking when you book.

Had the best time celebrating my birthday with their fabulous afternoon tea! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

If you're looking for a quaint little breakfast, coffee, lunch or dinner place on the Surrey side of the London border, during a walk, cycle ride or drive, then come here for great atmosphere and delicious food. I've been here with cycling buddies after a long ride, with friends for breakfast and with my wife for a meal for two. Each time, we were all raving about the attention to detail and the food. Variety, freshness and good prices. It's best to book at busy times or just try your luck.Safe place to park your bikes in the back too.

My wife and I visited this excellent tea room/ restaurant and was very pleasantly surprised by the fabulous service and friendly atmosphere. The coffee was superb and so too was the vegan lemon cake. I wouldn’t normally order anything with the word vegan in the title but am glad I did, it was so good.

We have visited this lovely restaurant on many occasions and have also held a birthday celebration there also. It was recommended and I am pleased to say we were not disappointed. The atmosphere, service and food are second to none. We decided to try their Lebanese evening which is held on a Friday and Saturday between 6-9pm the food was cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our first meal out for the new year. We will be coming back again soon. If you fancy afternoon teas and a good breakfast selection and beautiful decor this is the place to be.

£3.25 for a glass tumbler of chamomile tea with a tetley bag. Not even a teapot. There's no aroma from a tetley tea bag. Just too lazy to serve it in a teapot and to provide a cup and saucer. No mention on the menu that the speciality teas (if that's what you call them) cost extra! Why did you serve us with a tetley tea bag if you had no chamomile and overcharge is?

I have been a very regular visitor here over many years both with the original ownership and staff and the new owner and her team. I come sometimes several times a week with a mix of numbers including my wife, my family and my grandchildren. I feel therefore very well qualified to comment on this excellent establishment and say categorically I don't recognise the negative reviews written here. This is a local and much appreciated gem with an very good menu, super coffee and welcoming and hard working owners and staff.

I’ve been here twice and it always seems to be a good idea until you are there.. both times the service have been very slow. I thought the slow service was due to it being quite busy the first time I visited but today, there were only 3 tables of people and it still took 30-40 minutes for my food to arrive. Secondly, the staff managed to forget that we ordered cake on both occasions so today, we ended up waiting another 35 minutes after our plates were taken away for the cake to come but it never did so we went up to speak to them and they just seemed to have forgotten despite putting it on our order. It was rather frustrating for it to happen on both occasions! Perhaps the staff need to be better trained and remember to walk around the cafe to see if the customers need anything rather than just staying behind the till.

I had breakfast last week with several others at ‘The Lord Robert’s’ and we were bitterly disappointed! I ordered a sausage bap and when it arrived I was unable to identify the meat which was most unpalatable. When I later enquired, it transpired that it was lamb, which was certainly not specified on the menu. One of my fellow diners ordered scrambled eggs on toast. It first arrived as avocado, to which she is allergic. The second attempt was scrambled eggs with avocado. The third time was correct but the accompanying napkin was smeared with avocado. By the time it finally arrived rectified , the toast was cold as it had never been replaced. Another guest ordered her cappuccino with oat milk and it turned up with dairy milk. The service of new management was also discourteous. All in all, it was grossly unsatisfactory which is such a pity as this establishment used to be excellent prior to the recent sale.

A frequent visitor! The owner and her staff are very courteous and go out of their way to make everyone welcome, the food is delicious and well presented and the atmosphere warm and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them . Having read a few dissenting reviews, amongst the many favourable ones, we would comment in particular that the elderly and disabled seem well looked after, and every effort is made to accommodate mothers and babies too! It seems to be a popular meeting place for them- one must remember that it is only a relatively small establishment and prams etc take up a fair amount of space - so advanced booking might be a good idea to avoid disappointment. Even dog owners are well catered for with a comfortable covered outdoor seating area - complete with heaters! Would gladly recommend to anyone!

Such a quaint little place in the heart of its community. I visited around Christmas time and the decor was so sophisticated and music very fitting. We ordered some coffees and juices for the kids. The coffee was very tasty and the children enjoyed their drinks. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone passing by the area.

Another fabulous Afternoon tea had on 14th December. Fantastic food, amazing service and such a pleasant atmosphere. Special order re sandwiches was fulfilled perfectly. I cannot stress how much I recommend this place for an afternoon tea. Anyone who says to me they are looking for somewhere, this is the first place I suggest. Come along and give them a try, you will not be disappointed ??
