What a lovely cozy cafe! I’ve been there 3 times already and the food, staff and atmosphere is amazing! I’ve had lobster egg Benedict twice and I highly recommend that if you’re into seafood. Very welcoming and I’ll definitely be coming back for more.

My experience at O'Farol is always fantastic. The ambience is just sublime. The staff are always so welcoming and attentive, warm, charismatic and so friendly. My favourite staff members are Bernadette and Tara, the absolute epitome of exemplary and exceptional customer service and a great asset to your organisation.

I had the most amazing experience at O Farol! Amazing staff who helped recommend food and wine for us. The rib of beef was incredible - melt in the mouth! The atmosphere of the restaurant and cafe is so warm and welcoming. Highly recommend a coming for dinner or even just a coffee if you’re in Purley, Croydon.

A gem of a place! Have visited a few times and always met with a fantastic welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and always a fun atmosphere. Their live music nights are a great night out that gets everyone up and having a fun time! Don't miss out and pop in for some great Portuguese food and drink.

Place was incredibly rude.Smells like racism.I didn’t even eat in the end and just walked out due to the treatment.Was sat down at a table for two and a highchair the table was too wide to have the highchair on the other side of the table and as most parents would have it next to them.Later My wife came in to say hi and give me a key she was not staying, and was met with hostility saying there was no room for her when she sat down one of the waitresses got rude and aggressive with myself saying I should have stated, not sure why this was an issue if I was seated at a table for two. We just got up and left.

Hi, I used to work here at O farol, unfortunately I leave the restaurant due to the owners being very unwilling to pay their staff on time, not paying correctly and being extremely rude anarrogant. I have decided to share my experience here behind the scenes so clients know what they are receiving. I will admit that the there is a large variety of food on the menu and some dishes are great when made with the love and care it deserves but unfortunately that is quite rare. A lot of the food is tinned or ready prepared and is just put into the microwave. The majority of sauces come in buckets and are not made on site. For example the Hollandaise sauce used at breakfasts, the peri peri sauce which is used for the chicken. None of the fish is Fresh and is all Frozen in bags. The bread used for the breakfasts and bread baskets are always nearly always old bread that hasn’t been used up yet. Sometimes the bolo de caco and burger buns and bagels are stored in the fridge for up two weeks and become extremely hard and end up being toasted and unnoticed. The cleanliness of the place is terrible and as I worked there I helped try to improve this but unfortunately with the other workers not caring this wasn’t easy. I have seen the other chef and the boss pick up food from the floor and then continue serving it which was disgusting. I tried giving my opinions many times but was never listened to. The oil for fryers are not changed regularly enough and are extremely dirty. Anything with the use of flour or breadcrumbs are mostly cross-contaminated with fish or cheese as they are kept in containers for when needing to be used. So when for example Chicken tacos are made he puts the raw chicken in the breadcrumbs and then uses the same breadcrumbs for other dishes to be made. Unfortunately I have seen the boss himself do the chicken tacos and then after make breaded Brie, so cross contamination. Outside of the kitchen and into the bar the cakes are bought and put in fridges and are kept there for days until they are sold so are very rarely fresh. As for the desserts they are extremely overpriced for shop bought rubbish. As I worked there I offered to make homemade desserts but the boss said that it was easier to have them all shop made as he makes more money, he doesn’t care about the quality of food. The crème brûlée is in a cartoon and is heated up and then chilled. The lava cakes, the cheesecake all shop bought and ridiculously overpriced. There is a Costa opposite and I can guarantee you they they have fresher stuff and cheaper desserts which is quite sad as you’d want to be better than a massive chain coffee shop. Both owners are extremely unpleasant, are very false and only care about profiting, they overprice many things which can be found in many local stores in Stockwell for quite less. In groups chats of the workplace and in the workplace itself they have mocked new repeating customers many times which I found appalling. If you are looking for a Portuguese restaurant for the Portuguese experience then this isn’t the place for you as the restaurant doesn’t provide the standard for it. I am only writing this review so people understand what they are really getting in there service.
