I am usually very impressed with the fish and chips they serve. Unfortunately, the haddock I had last Friday wasn't that great: the batter tasted very old and the fish didn't taste like haddock at all... The chips were fine, hence the 3 stars instead of 2 stars. Definitely not up to their usual standard... Hopefully, just a one off..

4 sausage in batter 2 large chips and a 2 curry sauces. An absolute pleasure to eat, chips were cooked to perfection the batter on the sausages was like I remember from my youth crispy and what a beautiful taste. The staff were all smiles and polite.Other chip shops could learn a lot from here.

The best fish and chips for miles around. They catered for 80 of us at our local sailing regatta and everything arrived perfectly done, hot and on time. The batter is perfectly light and crunchy and fish was super fresh.
The best fish and chip shop in the area. The food is cooked fresh. Not sitting on a hot plate, it's worth the wait. The fish and chips are superb and have no grease. The staff are very friendly and polite.

We have used this 'Chippy' often and never had reason for criticism. Recently another visit showed that things were not as they once were. At 18:30, peak service time usually, the place had only two customers waiting! Fish & Chips bought and taken home we realised there was a problem. The chips were brown and shrivelled, probably that mornings and reheated. A good meal ruined. Have things changed here, are times so hard that quality is abandoned? Any body else experienced the same deterioration?

Tonight’s chips were not fresh.The fish however was very tasty, mushy peas… well they’re mushy peas!But as I say, the chips can not have been fresh!Very disappointing.I hope they improve as I used to love it!
