Great place with good atmosphere friendly staff and customers were happy to be

My wife and I have found this café, (The Ship) a Church run café In Rainham Village. It's a very nice place to eat, and chat to friendly staff and other people, even though there are other reviews with regard to gossip. Today, ( lunchtime Friday the 8th September), after an excellent meal, and in front of a dozen witnesses, the peace was disrupted by a Mr Michael Pathan who was sitting at the first table next to the entrance door. He stood up behind one of the staff and started to shout, at the top of his voice, (for everyone to hear), at a lady who had just left and was on the pavement outside talking quietly thanking the staff member who had served her. He screamed, 'Why don't you F*** ***.' He was offered to step out into the street and repeat what he said, but he stayed behind the lady that works there. For the benefit of the staff and all the people that eat there. I hope that the management ban the man from the café, and the café Church website, where his photo is listed.

What a wonderful place! We stumbled across the ship on a walk between Harold Wood, and Purfleet! We had no idea that this was fundamentally a community café but we was made to feel so welcome! The place is managed and run by a wonderful group of people who give up their time to help the less fortunate! They were so accommodating, and the food was very good for such a cheap price! I left feeling very humble that there are still such genuinely nice people out there in the community. Doing such wonderful work. I look forward to going back soon!

Happy friendly food great
Nice place that does a lot to help the homeless which is something close to my heart. Great people who volunteer here.
This is a lovely Christian coffee shop, with really nice staff. Also a small selection of cards and other bits. Not open on Saturdays.
Great home cooked food
Will write this up soon. Busy just now.
