My parents and I were three of the unfortunate souls to attend this mess of a restaurant on Boxing Day for Christmas dinner. Complete disgrace of a place. Several members of staff had apparently seen sense and left this sinking ship just prior to Christmas, and the staff they had in to replace them appeared to not even be able to spell "restaurant", let alone work in one The two managers on duty tried in vein to keep things running, but were fighting a losing battle. Not only was the service dire, but the food was not much better. It tasted stale and, the turkey aside (which was decent, to be fair) felt like it had been fully prepared and cooked the night before and warmed through as required Reading through articles online, this dive ruined many peoples Christmas Day / Boxing Day meals. You should be utterly ashamed of yourselves for the uselessness you displayed that day. I have requested a refund with the restaurant via e-mail, but they continue their inadequate service and have blanked both of my attempts of contact. Beefeater have now been e-mailed direct Avoid this place like the plague!

We were table of 4, arrived at 9.00 before its got too busy. Continental buffet poor, lacking attention to detail on refill juices, no marmite etc. Cooked breakfast took too long to be served, with many faults. Small quatities, burnt bacon, under cooked fried and scrambled eggs, its missing and slow service. It seemed to be a decent amount of staff on duty to be able to provide a better service, as we sat in front of empty plates at the end for a long time. It seems to be a popular places for hotel residents and locals, so needs improvement on standards, food quality in order not to lose their customers. Photo acted was meant to be 2 bacon, 2 sausages, but choking the presentation and size

On arrival we were greeted with we haven't got this and we haven't got that! As I had booked online, it would have been easy to contact us and explain food shortage. Service was OK. Food was average. It is probably one of the poorer Beefeater I have eaten in.

Unfortunately due to major staffing issues the service was vey slow and the food inedible. It is not the fault of the staff themselves who were trying their best under the circumstances. Until such time as the staffing issues are resolved - avoid!

If I can give it negative stars I would CHRISTMAS ruined thanks to the customer service from this one boy and the other waiters. WAITED 35 MINUTES for drinks then food as well took longer than ever got there at 12:07 got told to wait even more to be seated. 12:15-2:45 was our time slot and was still waiting for meals at 2:35. Then a young individual shouted and swore at us. Who does he think he is? I mean I understand it’s stressful as it is Christmas but being professional would’ve been nice and THEN getting in our facing looking like they wanted a fight. On the other hand the food mostly frozen, nothing was cooked properly and tasted disgusting and veg was hard and not all there very disappointing, and was given to another table to start with and with missing items. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN.At the end of the day if you can’t do it properly and professionally just close for that day and give everyone their refunds even the manger was shocked about their employee smashing items in the kitchen and their attitude towards customers.

We booked for a xmas day family meal. We had heard that a lot of the staff had walked out. We had worried what would happen ti our booking. We spoke to the lady who was in charge and she said that she had been there for a few days since the walk out and was trying hard to get things running properly. Our party had no problems with the service or the food apart from a shortage of gravy which was soon rectified. Under the circumstances they were in we had a good meal. Food was good.

Arrived at 14.50 for our 15.15 slot, waited outside in a queue in the spitting rain. After about 10 mins a lady, who wasn’t staff, told us there was at least an hour wait, she also said we could claim a refund if we weren’t prepared to wait. She was speaking on behalf of the manager. We had no plan B for Christmas Dinner, so initially decided to wait, however, it was becoming obvious that even if we got seated in an hour, there was no guarantee food and drinks would arrive in a timely manner. We could see those people still on the early sitting looked totally fed up and unhappy. Apparently, 18 staff had quit 2 weeks previously and half the agency staff didn’t turn up on Christmas Day. Obviously Beefeater, as a company, must have realised well in advance there would be problems on Christmas Day, so they should have communicated this, instead of leaving us stranded on the day. We couldn’t even get a drink while we waited. There was no communication from the staff, we were just left waiting and wondering just how long the wait would be. Eventually we decided to claim the refund, we then found a local corner shop open so we ended up buying some pizzas from there and going back to my house and cook them, not the Christmas dinner we had been looking forward to. I understand things don’t always go to plan but Beefeater obviously knew they had serious staffing issues at this restaurant so they should at least have warned us of the issues in advance, at least then we could have put a plan B in place. Needless to say we definitely won’t be going back there again! I feel sorry for the manager on the day, she was close to tears, she shouldn’t have been put in that situation. Beefeater really need to address the issues at the Liberty Bell as they are losing loyal customers like myself and my friends and family!

Have been coming here for years to meet with friends at Christmas and this was the worse meal. Food was lukewarm, bland and presented poorly.Waiting staff was friendly but clearly very busy.Toilets had flooded and it was obvious no one checks them regularly.Floor was dirty and it just appeared really run down. Unfortunately we won't be returning again.

Went during the week. Staff were nice, food was decent. Good place to swing by if youre out and about and fancy a bite to eat.

Lovely staff for breakfast and evening meals, steaks could be a bit thicker to keep them juicy, very busy but was accommodating, will definitely be back when we return to do another London sightseeing

The food & service was excellent, an excellent waitress too. But I'm sorry to say ashame they kept running out if drinks. As we would of stayed for more if they had the drinks we wanted.

We’re in Romford and thought we’d eat in the Beefeater. We got there a bit early so waited for 15mins for it to open. The doors were opened but there was no welcome or acknowledgement. We eventually got to talk the the girl on the desk and explained that we had not booked but she just dismissed us and said it was booking only and as good as told us to go ( which is what we did) - very unprofessional and unfriendly - I understand if that’s your policy to only allow in people who have booked in advance but it would have been nicer if she had apologised or shown a bit of concern or even check to see if there was an unbooked table available for 2 but no - just dismissed us. Needless to say we won’t be back.

It filled a hole . Had a starter of garlic bread, then had a chicken festive burger. The cranberry bbq sauce wasnt very nice. Didnt fancy dessert after that . With 2 pints come to about £30 odd . It will do til breakfast.
