6th Feb 2022. Booked to eat here to celebrate 75th birthday. Total shambles from start to finish. On arrival we had to set out own tables out. Food took an absolute age to arrive.\\nWe had hot food that was cold in the middle, raw burgers, wrong meals sent out, sides that arrived after main meal was eaten. The waitress was under a lot of pressure but kept smiling. The new manager however had lost control of his restaurant and obviously did not know what to do. Refunds on food did not make up for a ruined birthday gathering.\\nEven the toilets were not clean or stocked with toilet paper !\\nSuch a shame, lovely building in a beautiful setting. On a previous visit when a different manager was in charge we had a great experience. We will not be returning.

Friendly service. Good music. Nice and bright. Good menu - unfortunately the dish I wanted was unavailable however my substitute was delicious. Will plan on returning again.

Poor service, long wait for food (over an hour) dishes served sporadically, many returned to kitchen, food quite pricey for bottom end pub grub, avoid at all costs, can't understand how place is still open.

Excellent all round! Great food, served very quickly and it was hot too. Service was excellent - Liam, our server, was knowledgeable and helpful, as was the manager.

The size of the head on my pint they definitely can’t pull a pint !! Arrived today just get a drink but as soon as we arrived the rude man said you don’t want food and we said no we are just getting a drink and he walked off and said good we ain’t got any left . Ordered a pint and this is what I got … didn’t have any snacks / crisis etc absolutely waste of a place atm .it’s got another lot of new owners who clearly don’t care .. hopefully these lot won’t last and we can have a nice pub back until then I won’t be back … can’t stand rude staff especially managers who are meant to set a higher standard ..

Not been here for a while but we will not be returning. The food was ok, portion size good but the service was very slow. I appreciate there are staffing issues but there was no passion for good quality service - all the tables around us were left with dirty crockery, despite asking for an ice bucket for our wine it never appeared, the wrong dessert was brought to the table and we questioned it the one we'd ordered was out of stock and we'd not been told, spoons for our desserts were just dumped on the table and we lost count of the number of times we heard the manager apologising for things. Such a shame because the pub itself is a lovely backdrop for a meal.

The new manager, Steve, is super friendly and was really accommodating. He remembered us from previous visits and knows that we prefer to sit outside so made a special effort to get an umbrella for us and dried town tables and chairs so we could fully enjoy our experience. The staff always remember our orders and are always super friendly. The food is fab, especially the meat platter :)

The outside is a mess and very dangerous for dogs, I have walked around here for years and never had a problem. Today our dog today nearly walked into/onto smashed glass from their tables . Looks rather run down and grubby outside now because of broken tables and umbrellas. I would dread to think what inside is like . PLEASE take more care of the areas that public use !!!

Our booking for 18 people for 8pm was lost, so we had to wait for an hour for a table. Food was average. Dessert orders were not taken till 10.30. Very noisy, lots of children running about.

This used to be a good restaurant. On recent visit the plate warmer wasn't working (according to another customer, it hasn't worked for some while) therefore food was only luke warm by time it got to table. Poor service. Wouldn't recommend.

Visited Friday evening, food was good service good and staff lovely. Four of us and we all had different. Salad was fresh, jacket potato, chicken, fish and chips all very nice. Olives were good too. We'll definitely be going again.

Recently been refurbed and appearance is better but as before the restaurant does lack a bit of atmosphere. Ideal for family's and larger groups, great parking. Food is fine not Michelin star but is reasonable value. The 2 meals for £10 is great value and the pies are pretty good.
