Unbelievably high quality Japanese food. Other reviews say the food was bland, I say they are getting kidney stones soon because British/Local taste buds are too numb to enjoy to subtle nuances of Japanese flavors. The prawns gyoza is exceptionally good with the shrimp meat bouncy to the taste and full of sesame oil flavor. It's definitely not something that is made cheaply like other takeaways. The miso soup was traditionally nothing fancy but this one is authentic to the Japanese taste. The chicken rice has skin on it which I really love, unlike the british chicken which always peels the skin off. All in all, this is an authentic experience for a very good price!

I would just like to leave a comment here to grumble about the delivery. The delivery driver refused to come to the door and made us come down, basically refreshing to enter. He was rude and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a delivery to be delivered, to your door.When we mentioned via intercom we had a baby sleeping and I was asleep, he said he could take it away if we didn't want it, and honestly if I was paying cash I would have told him to F-off then. As it was, yours truly had to be woken up to get get.Regretfully, I won't be using this takeaway again.

I ordered Ramen, and it was extremely bland. The sushi was decent, but nothing to rave about. My partner was pleased with his food except for his miso soup which again was super bland. I don't think we will order from here again

This is NOT Japanese, it tastes like a take away at 3am after a night out! Everything is deep fried and greasy! I don't think they know what a gyoza is, because what ever we ordered was not gyoza! If you want good portions of greasy food at an okay price then this place is fine.

Have been a regular with them for a while, always been fantastic price and quality.However, they seem to be away this week? Unavailable on the apps and phone unanswered.Anybody knows if they are taking a break etc? Cheers.

I ordered Amai Udon and salmon and tuna sashimi. Everything tastes delicious and fresh. The food presentation was excellent as well as the packaging. The delivery was on time. Good value for money. Will definitely order again and again. Local classic, it's been here for years and the couple that run it have been a fixture of the local community for a long time now. Food never misses the spot. Great meal deal, less then £8 for lovely dumplings and a generous and tasty portion of Katsu curry. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

I’ve been a frequent customer of Tokyo Express for about 8 months, however I placed an order with them today (a hot day which was reportedly 31 degrees). I ordered via Just Eat and the food was supposed to be delivered at 19:15. I called at 19:55 to check on the status of my order, the manager advised me it should be with me shortly and that it had left some 40 minutes ago. 10 minutes later the food turned up, and the hot food and cold food came out of the same food storage bag. Upon unpacking the food I noticed the sushi was warm to the touch, and the hot food was barely warm. Not wanting to chance warm sushi on a hot day where it had been travelling in the car, I called the restaurant. As soon as I advised her that I wanted to speak to the manger, the lady who I presume to the manager advised me the manger wasn’t in but that she could help me and she didn’t know when the manger was going to be in, ever. I advised her that the order came 55 minutes late and that the sushi was warm to the touch and I didn’t want to risk eating it especially because it was so hot today. She didn’t want to know. She blamed the courier, and told me that I should have used Uber instead. She then repeatedly told me the fish was good and it was fine. I informed the manager that I would have to inform Just Eat of my horrific experience. She then proceeded to tell me that she would just tell them the fish was fine when they called up to check and I was banned from ordering from the restaurant again! I advised her that that was fine, I’d rather not eat at a place that can’t take criticism from a reoccurring customer and doesn’t take food safety seriously!! Great customer service by the way!
