The cafe was busy but the staff were very quick to serve us. Very polite and friendly and the coffees and cake was good.

This is the best café/coffee shop in Surbiton.

The Kingston branch is one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. Although it was almost empty the service is incredibly slow and the staff were very inattentive and unfriendly. When I finished eating I must have waited about 15 minutes before I was asked if I wanted desert and they didn’t even bother to remove the finished plate. I have no idea why the service is so slow as there were less than 10 people in the entire restaurant. The pizza I had was awful. The dough was undercooked and chewy and the pizza itself as swimming in oil so much so when cut it was dripping off the pizza and it was grossly overpriced at £18.95. I now understand why there were only a handful of people in there yet people were queuing to get into Franco Manca. Probably the worst pizza I’ve ever had and I certainly won’t be returning.

Delicious food but service not

I’ve been here for lunch many times, but came here for dinner for the first time this evening and I wasn’t disappointed. The staff were as lovely as ever, and the food was superb. As a carnivore completing veganuary, I had the “all but” pizza which was so delicious and flavoursome that I would even have it again when I’m not doing veganuary! Though my mum had the margherita with added chorizo and raved at the manchego addition to her pizza, so I may have to try that first…!

Their Margherita pizzas have no fresh basil leaves on them apart from some dried herb grounds. My espresso was not strong enough for my taste. Their service felt more urbane than local.

Been a couple of times before and have usually had a coffee and a slice which was always good.I tried a light breakfast this morning which I thoroughly enjoyed.Staff were friendly and efficient, I will definitely be returning.

Lovely buzzy ambiance, delicious Spanish almonds and huge olives. Tasty sharing platters and good customer service. Great banter from Findlay!

What a great selection of wines. Went with a friend for some food and coffee. It had a great atmosphere and the avo on toast was lovely with some chilli flakes and feta, simple but tasty stuff

last came here in 2018 and pleased to see it still going. had avo on sourdough - very nice and poached egg was perfect although sourdough was a bit thin. Staff pleasant and willing to make a special coffee and tonic on ice...

Had lots of great meals here over the last few years, fantastic pizzas and great sandwiches (although stingy and overpriced tapas).Today though my tuna melt was distinctly underwhelming.A spoonful of tuna swamped in mayo with a crumble of rather unpleasant cheap cheddar was not the same sandwich as a couple of months ago.Don't downgrade guys. If you need to increase the prices, do, but keep the quality.

Nice spot for a glass of wine in the sun but felt let down with the sharing platter (charcuterie board) we had. For near on £30 the amount of meat we had on the board was totally unacceptable.

The food is atrocious. The pizza I ordered was supposed to contain basil and sun dried tomatoes. There was basil, but it was ground, dried basil, and there were no sun dried tomatoes, only fresh cherry ones. The zucchini was very thickly cut and hard to bite into. No interaction with staff (we ordered a bottle of wine and we poured it ourselves) so the tip screen when paying felt rude.

If I were the manager of Excellar I would not leave the staff unattended. They were rude and didn't listen, when we pointed out their mistake they were argumentative. Three of us went for joint birthdays, the only reason we didn't leave was because it was raining and we were determined not to let the staff spoil our day. The girl with the "sand soccer" t shirt needs to take a chill pill or retrain for a job that doesn't involve interacting with other people. It wasn't just us, they were rude to the people on the next table too.
