I popped into The French Table today for a business lunch. I had the cauliflower veloute which won me over even though I don't usually enjoy cauliflower, and a very nice pot au feu. The food was good and I was particularly impressed by the thoughtful and knowledgeable service. Our waiter was very polite and attentive and clearly passionate about the food.

We had been so looking forward to our evening at The French Table, but were bitterly disappointed. My husband booked for my birthday and our evening got off to a good start, when I was greeted with a note on the menu marking the occasion. Unfortunately we were put on a very awkward table, which had ice buckets (not belonging to us) kept behind my husband’s chair, meaning that we were constantly disturbed throughout our meal as staff reached to top up tables around us. We tried to let this go and enjoy our meal, but the service went from bad to worse. It was like something went wrong within the restaurant because all care and attention suddenly went out the window - water was not topped up, as our empty glasses sat deserted on the table. The same applied for our empty carafe of wine. Desert then took at least 45 minutes to arrive and when it did, tasted soggy and stale. To top it all off, the coffees never even came. We gently commented on our disappointment over the service when leaving and the waiter just shrugged it off, taking no accountability at all. We left feeling completely flat and disheartened, after what was supposed to be a special night. We love French food and had heard only good things about TFT, but it nowhere near lived up to expectations. I would not recommend this restaurant based on our poor experience and certainly will not be returning in a hurry.

Absolutely divine. Some of the best French cuisine I have had in my life. Was sad when the meal was coming to an end as I was really enjoying the story each dish had to portray. Flavours and presentation were immaculate, definitely a must try and the staff are all very welcoming and accommodating.If you are going this season I highly recommend the Vanilla flan dessert, well rounded dessert and will leave you wanting more!

How cannot be amazed by this spectacular restaurant! They really made my 20th wedding Anniversary feel completely special. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The duck, what a duck! I had one of the best fig dessert in my life. Please make it permanent! The environment couldn’t be more pleasant with calm music and people really enjoying around you. And last but not least, THE STAFF! I think every restaurant should learn with this stellar team. THANK YOU! Well done! You deserve much more stars that I can place here.

?️ It was a 3 course meal set at £58 - came with 4 delicious breads and Turkish delight at the end too?.—————————?️Starter was tuna carpaccio & veal tartare.Main was duck breast & lamb.Dessert was lavender panna cotta and soufflé (the special dessert of the day so not on the menu photo).————————— 10/10 loved the extra bday dessert & confetti on the table

Late review but came here a while back for anniversary. Stunning service - absolutely flawless. Made to feel welcome and even personalised menus. Wine pairing and tasting menu were fantastic, food couldn’t be faulted. Great value for what you get - you pay more for worse elsewhere!Atmosphere was great, staff friendly and knowledgable and cannot wait to come back

Our favourite restaurant in the UK; it is a family staple. The food is always lovely - in fact we have never had a bad meal there and we have been going for nearly 15 years. The service is wonderful. An absolute gem in the neighbourhood.

A formal restaurant setting which we enjoy. Service was comfortable and unobtrusive, and overall the quality of the food was very good. Wine list very good too, although we noticed some House carafes being served which we did not notice listed .
