Upon hearing of the recent renovation of this timeless establishment we endeavoured on a a casual soiree to see what the fuss was all about, I will admit it was a very busy Friday lunchtime amidst the chaos of Easter bank holiday weekend, however we were not informed of an hour and a half wait time and so after 40+ minutes of waiting we queried as to the whereabouts of our food, with the grace, decorum and managerial gun ho of a battle ship captain rallying the troops in the depths of sea warfare, we were personally seen to by the supervisor who compensated our tragic tale of lengthy wait times with two small glasses of wine. once the food did arrive it was, in fact, delicious, the vegan burger is a must try and the naughty addition of some bacon (which was proper slices, not some sad streaky rashers) made all the difference. To conclude: The newly renovated vision of what a pub garden could be gave hope for warmer weather and late evening drinks, the ambience was bustling and lively, the drinks were quite expensive but a couple of deep breaths and remembering where we were made it easier and finally the food was top notch, the only dark cloud was the wait time on the food. I would highly encourage visitors to make the pilgrimage.Vegetarian options: Sublime

What a difference a year makes. Last year lovely this year awful. Food cold and expensive £17.50 for a vegan burger with cold fries. Got the feel of a place cashing in with zero interest in the customers. Tables not cleared 45 minute wait for food. Would avoid.

Went to visit as had reopened following a refurbishment and we were doing a taste test of the new menu so was 50% off and we had to book a slot in advance. I had the sausage and mash and mum had the quiche. The food was so fresh and delicious. The staff were great and kept in communication with us with the wait time (and explaining staff getting used to the new computer systems and food menu)The garden was gorgeous and we were lucky was a sunny day so we were enjoying the sun. The atmosphere was a nice chilled one and the music playing through the speakers matched that vibe. I look forward to going back when warmer and also trying the burger shackThey also had lighter bites of sandwiches but when they came out to neighbouring tables the sandwiches were a good size-so much so I would have to share one.Parking: There’s a car park with spaces and across the road are paid spaces and neighbouring streets can pay and display. The pub is on a busy road so 3 buses can take to get there and also walking distance from Earlsfield train station

Spent a very pleasant Sunday afternoon at the Leather Bottle, celebrating a dear friend’s 60th birthday. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the venue was clean, tidy and well laid out! Will return. Thank you!

Despite the pub being under refurbishment, they still accommodated a large group of me and my friends really well! One of the staff members even connected their own Spotify to the TV and asked us what music we would like in the AlFresco area that we booked. I’ve never been to a pub with such lovely staff before.Really recommend this pub to anyone I know and I’m excited to see what it will look like after the refurb!Parking: The pub has its own car park however, there are limited spaces at the moment as it is undergoing a refurb.

We went there once when the new manager took over and we were completely ignored. A woman decided to have her lunch with her big headphones in the restaurant where we were sat and everyone seemed to laugh and joke around with a complete disregard that there are paying customers a few feet away. We said something and we were told to come back as it would be better in a few weeks, so we did. This time we came with a bigger group and the waiter was quite stuck up when I asked if there’s an entirely new team. He proceeded to tell me that the new manager sacked everyone because they were lazy and that he’s the best manager there is and that he has a reputation for turning around badly ran pubs. I sat there listening in shock as I told him that it wasn’t that badly run because the pub was constantly packed and the previous manager, she had won manager of the year from all of the pubs in the country. He said that they are going to refurbish because the pub is run down and the new manager really pushed for a new look so that it would attract more customers.Well, as a long standing customer of the leather bottle, I will give it one more try when it reopens but I would seriously be watching the type of the staff they have hired that talk badly about previous managers and staff. Not something you say openly and seem so proud of to paying customers who actually used to enjoy coming to the pub. My experience with him left quite a sour taste in my mouth. If the managers are reading this, I can describe exactly what he looks if they want to know.

Rude and unwelcoming staff. Ignored me at the bar for ages and then tried to serve someone else before me.
