Lovely little cafe, this was my second visit and the food and service was excellent as always. Staff are really polite and friendly. The shakshuka was delicious and had perfectly runny egg yolks!

Breakfast here on the off chance with an old school friend of mine. Served delicious royal egg salmon x2 and a perfect cuppa tea, sat outside, service was direct and double checked. Perfect yolk spillage over the salmon. Payment at counter was via written notes, real surprise and beneficial for us. Smiles all round. Big thank you to service.
Not many breakfast cafes do Shakshuka and here it’s cooked in the right way. Worth trying out if you are in the area. The cafe is kept clean and tidy, and the staff who handled my order were friendly and welcoming.

Lovely place and so sad rhat it has now shut down. I hope they open another in the future - I would be recommending it to everyone as I had done with this cafe. The owner was so hospitable and friendly, he let me park in his car parking space as I have a physical disability. The food was so delicious and not like all the other cafes in the area. It wasn't pretentious and had such a calm and relaxed environment (the 4* is because I didn't see it at its busiest). I wish the owners well with their next venture and hope to hear of a new Matte Black Cafe soon.I've only rated it a 4 star as I've never rated anything a 5*.4 is exceptional in my standards.
