Lovely decor, excellent staff and service, however totally let down by the most atrocious cramped, scruffy and dated bathrooms in London, like something out of an old school. Nearly impossible to get in and out of the stalls (goodness help you if you have any kind of coat or bag), the Ladies are tiny. What a weird thing to have such lovely decor but forget to do up the cloakrooms. The Xmas menu was ok, but the turkey was overcooked and there were no potatoes of any kind with it, which was also rather weird...

Five of us went there after an evening event. It was during the train strike, so the restaurant was pretty empty. Great for us, as it was quiet. We were seated at a spacious table. I liked the banquette and the oval table. It made conversation so much easier than at a long one. We opted for the menu for 3 courses. My starter was liver mousse with crackers. The texture of the mousse was slacker than I expected, not unlike hummus, which wasn't unpleasant at all. In fact, it worked very well with the crackers. We all opted for the venison as the main course. It was very tasty indeed. Christmas Pudding with a toffee sauce and ice cream, yummy, to finish off. The service was nicely unobtrusive and the intervals between courses were just right. All in all, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable evening.

My friends and I (10 of us) met for lunch and thorough enjoyed ourselves. Some of us had the bottomless bubbles and the staff made sure our glasses were never empty! The food was good although quite small portions but the attentiveness of the lovely staff made up for it. We didn’t feel rushed and stayed on until early evening chatting. I would recommend Avenue and will visit again when I’m next in London.

Great full English, great prices and the service is beyond lovely. Amazing coffee too!

Nice space and the main course bream was excellent. Starter pumpkin soup was very average and the wait between courses was about 25 minutes when the restaurant was 1/3 full and we were clearly on a business lunch. Might have been an unlucky day but I can only review what I experienced

My husband and I had an absolutely fabulous evening here. We had the 3 course meal with wine pairings using our Virgin Experience voucher. From the minute we walked in the staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable. Service was faultless. The food was fantastic as were the wines served with them. We would thoroughly recommend a visit and will definitely be returning.

This is one of my favourite bottomless Prosecco brunch places, staff are attentive, always ensuring you have everything you need. Service is discreet so you can have private conversations. The food is good and the DJ gives the place a really good feel good vibe.

Been many times but never before so empty - Friday night and only 3 tables full! Don’t know why, food and service excellent. Maybe a sign of what’s to come ?

3 friends on a gentelmen's Friday lunch. It's a large and quite pleasant space with a very long bar and we had anticipated it would be heaving but it was almost empty, maybe 3 tables occupied. We all started with a rather good Bloody Mary, which we had thought we'd drink at the bar first but with nobody else at the bar we had them at our table. We ordered from the set menu, which is a subset of the a la carte. The food was all very well prepared and cooked and at £30/head was good value for 3 courses. The service was impeccable, background music was well chosen, not too loud not too quiet. Our only complaint was the lack of atmosphere due to lack of customers. Maybe it was the time of year or the day. Would happily return if we could be sure of a few more guests in the building.

I tried Avenue owing to some excellent meals at a sister restaurant in Bristol. I wasn’t disappointed, the meal, service and restaurant were all fantastic. Service was personable but not overbearing, the property beautifully presented and we enjoyed our meal at our own pace without pressure for the table. I’ll definitely return (recommend the great twist on a steak tartare)

They overwork their staff and force them to work when they have COVID-19. This shows that they do not care about spreading the virus to customers and their other employees. They do not care for the well-being of the people that work for them or the people giving them money. Highly disappointing

I have been to Avenue many times over the years. This weekend I went to the bar with 2 friends for some cocktails. My friend was given a glass with a chip in it, which cut her lip. We told the waiter who initially seemed unbothered, he then returned to offer us a 'round of drinks on the house' (we never asked for this, it was offered to us) When the bill arrived, all of the drinks were on the bill. We asked a different waiter for the round of drinks we'd been promised to be removed, and he knew nothing about it. Our previous waiter then came over, he was off-shift by that point and was very argumentative and rude, and acted like we were scamming him. He pointed at my friend saying "I've served HER three drinks, so that's why three of her drinks are on the bill" - to which I pointed out that he had offered us a free round, so only two of each of our drinks should be on the bill. He eventually removed one drink from the bill and discounted the service charge by 30%. He then separately said to one of my friends "I'm a fair guy, what more do you expect?' - we didn't expect anything, he offered us a free round of drinks and all we did was enquire about it. It was so rude, unpleasant and unnecessary. We were made to feel like we were scamming the restaurant, when we had absolutely no intention of doing so. Ruined a nice afternoon - and none of that would have happened if they hadn't given out a broken glass.

We had a great dinner on a Friday at Avenue Restaurant. Good selection of dishes on the menu and the food is nicely presented and also delicious. The service was friendly and relaxed as always, the cocktails strong and tasty. It was a great finish to a busy week at work. We’ll be back soon again.

We did this on a Virgin Experience Days experience after being given it as a gift. The staff were delightful - often on "voucher" meals the staff are a little.... offish, but here they were an absolute delight and seemed genuinely pleased to serve us. The food was wonderful and the wine delicious and generous. What's not to like ?!

I went there yesterday for my birthday and I had the most amazing time!! I’m a serial bruncher and this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! The service was amazing (the staff are so friendly but also really knowledgeable), the food was delicious (the roast especially was superb) and the restaurant/ambience was 10/10. There was also live music which was great. Special shout out to Carolina! She is one of the nicest waitresses I’ve ever met! She made my birthday really special! They then topped it off with a cute dessert/candles! I’ll be going back very soon.
