“This was a wonderful surprise after a long walk over Hayes Common, and ideally located opposite Hayes railway station. It is rather like stepping into somebody's front room in the 1960s, with a small bar in the corner and the beer fetched from barrels out the back. The pub serves real ales, ciders and wines produced in Kent; no food is served except nuts and crisps. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.”
