I felt excluded because I wanted to eat halal food, the waiter tried to help and suggested the vegetarian salad bar.I had ordered a chicken burger before and when he brought the order, I was told that it was not halal.although I stated my situation at first.then he suggested the salad bar.ok let's do it that way, no problem, I said I would pay for the chicken and I headed to the salad stand.I felt the racist attitude of the gentleman who greeted me with a smiling face at the entrance from his tone of voice! It was very offensive. There was no one at the salad bar, the lady before me took the bread with her hand, I was going to reach out and take the tongs and take it that way, he snapped loudly from a distance and told me not to go behind the bar, whereas I was just reaching for the tongs. And when I wanted to ask him, he ignored my interruption by passing by quickly. it was very offensive, I cannot understand that people still have this attitude today.

Xmas day festive menu wasn't cheap but good value in comparison to other restaurants. Staff were very friendly, roasts are always good but beef was beautiful and a really good portion, kids happy, overall a success and would do it

The food is good here always fresh produce out. The service however is questionable. I think they're always understaffed and taking on too much. Overall is OKParking: If you enter your number plate parking is free

Out waiter was so lovely.Unfortunately food always only ok…There were no carrots , no mint sauce, no apple sauce, no cranberry sauce, no gravy and so had to ask for everything. The carrots never arrived :Our dessert was a total disaster :(Order a treacle sponge and it was ‘rock hard’ obviously over cooked in the microwave :(Told them we wouldn’t be paying for the dessert and they didn’t offer any form of reduction either for the other issues:(

Excellent service and superb value for money. We had a big party (16) and despite confusion over pre-orders (all our fault), the staff coped superbly. The manager was fantastic and was so helpful - it must be really hard work, but very single person in our party said to me afterwards how much tehy had enjoyed the evening. Thanks for making a good night.

This was the second time we visited this Woodford Toby that we had to wait circa half an hour before being allowed to get our food from the servery as the vegetables were apparently not ready, as per the first time, we were told it would "only be 5 minutes". We have been to several other Toby restaurants and have never had this issue with any other one, always being, as you would expect, able to get our food when we are ready, it really is not acceptable. The response to this message from the carvery was not accurate. I booked the table for 2pm, got delayed by a road closure and phoned immediately to say we may be a little late, as it turned out we were only 5 mins late. I know they got the message as our waitress thanked us for calling. Also, we WERE TOLD we would only have to wait 5 mins for the carvery and it was nearly 30 mins, I checked this with my fellow diners. I did complain about the delay to the waitress.

My mother and I both visit this Toby branch regularly and the team are always so very friendly and extremely attentive!!! Always service with a smile especially from both Donna and Jill, which makes our visits here all the more enjoyable!!! The team on the carvery are always extremely friendly too even when it’s super busy, with generous servings too!!! The food is always fresh and delicious, we always very much look forward to our next visit!!!

OK carvery. Meat bit greasy, peas were hard, had to wait for carrots. Yorkshire pudding v. Nice. Very busy there on a Sunday afternoon. It was too hot in there. Cappuccinos v.nice. easy booking online which I'd recommend. Had to wait to be seated not good with a walking stick.

Great place! Staff are wonderful and the past 5 times I've been there it's been the same woman on the carvery and she's incredibly friendly and good at her job and a joy to talk to! Apparently she's worked there 9 years and honestly deserves a raise! Food is what you expect from a carvery and the service is very efficient and friendly.Parking: Plenty of spots never had a problem parking

I booked a table online for an early dinner before going shopping and on the way home from a hospital appointment. It was a very easy process. Needn’t have worried about booking, though, because there were plenty of tables available when we arrived. We were shown to our table and drinks were ordered quickly. We had the carvery served by an extremely helpful and friendly chef, Alex, who gave us a good size portion of the meats of our choice - even going to get the joint that was my preference from the kitchen and letting me have a taster of the beef. Usually the beef is a bit tough and chewy so I don’t select it, but on this occasion it was tender and flavoursome. A couple of things which brought my score down to four: • my drink was wrong. I’d asked for an apple- based J2O but was served Orange and Passionfruit. When I brought it to the attention of the staff member they corrected the mistake. • the cauliflower cheese was undercooked, with hard tough stalks and with very little cheese. Other than these minor details it was everything we expect from and enjoy about having a Toby Carvery meal.
