This was my first time visiting a carvery. The waitress was personable and helpful. The food was mediocre. Meat quality was decent but the veg all tasted the same. No seasoning on anything. Didn’t get much meat either. Potatoes were dry and yet not at all crispy.The self service model is not for me.All the chains under this umbrella of Mitchell and Butler produce very similar outcomes in my experience. Bang average food at an alright price. Nothing special though at all.

After our first good visit, we booked with family 2nd time round...but disappointed with meat serving (just scraps, end of joint should have changed it). Table was definitely not in quiet area. We also had trouble with drinks machine, it nearly run out and quite a queue had formed. It was a shame we never left feeling we wanted to return.

It's usually very busy and fully booked at the weekend, so I went on a Wednesday lunchtime. It was fully booked, but I was offered a table at the bar. Their carvery for £9.99 was excellent. I was provided with generous portions of roast beef, turkey, gammon, surrounded by all your usual vegetables and a Yorkshire. More than enough for lunch. The gravy was spot on. Delicious. Will be back.

Myself and friends decided to go for some breakfast on Monday 18th March and what a brilliant thing it was. The food was excellent and the service was even better. Was served by Jenna the whole time we were there and she was amazing. She saw to all our needs, went above and beyond for us and she was polite and helpful from the moment we got there. Jenna definitely made our experience 5 star so thank you she is a real credit to the restaurant ?

Despite the mix-up, Jenna, went above and beyond to ensure that my group and I had a table and a wonderful dining experience.From the moment we arrived, Jenna greeted us warmly and quickly took charge of the situation.She was incredibly accommodating, efficiently rearranging seating arrangements for us, despite the restaurant being quite busy. Her professionalism and dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction were truly commendable.Throughout our meal, Jenna continued to check on us, making sure we had everything we needed and that our dining experience was nothing short of fantastic.Overall, despite the initial hiccup with the booking, the outstanding service provided by Jenna and the rest of the team at Toby made our visit. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for not only delicious food but also exceptional customer service. Thank you, Jenna, for turning what could have been a disappointing situation into a delightful dining experience.
